Top G5 Final Waiver Wire Names

Quarterback – 4 Point Passing TD Leagues

Broc Lowry, Western Michigan

Fantrax Rostership: 7%
Total Fantasy Points: 239.2
Fantasy Points Per Game: 21.7

Broc Lowry has been rock solid in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play. Broc has averaged 25.45 points per game over his last five games. Of those points, 16.48  have come via the ground, as he is averaging 92 yards and 1.2 touchdowns on the ground during that five-game stretch. Western Michigan will attempt to punch their ticket to the MAC Championship game on Tuesday as they look to defeat Eastern Michigan.

Eastern Michigan is the eighth-worst in the G5 and 10th-worst in the nation in terms of allowing fantasy points to the running back position. I point this out because of how much usage Broc Lowry has gotten in the run game. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Right? If Western Michigan continues to rely heavily on Lowry in the running game against an awful run defense, then I would imagine Broc Lowry has a great game, fantasy-wise, on the ground. As a result, Broc Lowry is my Top G5 Final Waiver Wire Name at the quarterback position for four-point passing touchdown leagues.

Quarterback – 6 Point Passing TD Leagues

Joe Pesansky, Florida International University (FIU)

Fantrax Rostership: 0%
Total Fantasy Points: 99.1
Fantasy Points Per Game: 12.4

Joe Pesansky is my Top G5 Final Waiver Wire Name at the quarterback position for six-point passing touchdown leagues. The first thing to remember is Joe Pesansky has been filling in for an injured Keyone Jenkins over the last three weeks. Thus, if he plays this week, Joe Pesansky is obviously not a name to consider here.

Why do I like Joe Pesansky this week? Firstly, in Joe’s last three starts, he has had two 30+ fantasy point performances. Secondly, he has thrown eight touchdowns in those three games. Thirdly, FIU plays Sam Houston this week. Sam Houston allows 32.36 points per game to opposing quarters on the season, which ranks 132 out of 136 FBS teams. In other words, no amount of turkey or ham on Thanksgiving can slow down Joe! Buckle up for another Joe Pesansky 30+ fantasy point performance on Saturday!

Running Back

Austyn Dendy, Bowling Green

Fantrax Rostership: 11%
Total Fantasy Points: 64.1
Fantasy Points Per Game: 12.8

If you are unfamiliar with the name Austyn Dendy, get to know it. Austyn has gotten the start at running back for the Falcons for the last four weeks. During that stretch, he has received no fewer than 20 carries, except on one occasion. That game was against Buffalo, where he had eighteen carries. Austyn has now broken the century mark in back-to-back games. I look for his success on the ground to continue on Tuesday as Bowling Green squares off against the University of Massachusetts (UMass).

Austyn Dendy is my Top G5 Final Waiver Wire Name at the running back position because of his late-season success and the fact that he will face the third-easiest run defense in the nation on Tuesday. UMass is winless on the season and allows opposing running backs to score, on average, 35.81 fantasy points against them. Look for Austyn Dendy to carve up this defense better than your dad carves up your turkey on Thanksgiving day!

Wide Receiver

Hunter Summers, Arkansas State

Fantrax Rostership: 1%
Total Fantasy Points: 108.6
Fantasy Points Per Game: 9.9

After the Thanksgiving meal, my grandma or mom would often put leftovers in a Country Crock butter container or a Cool Whip container. When I got hungry later, I would never know what exactly was in each container. I felt like it was a crapshoot if I picked the one with the food I was looking for. To put it another way, Hunter Summers is undeniably a DEEP SHOT this week.

Despite Hunter Summers being the third option and a “leftover” in this Arkansas State passing offense, he leads the team in receiving touchdowns. Summers plays on the outside alongside Corey Rucker. This is important because when Arkansas State gets into the red zone, Jaylen Raynor is looking at the outside wide receiver. To illustrate this, the duo has combined for nineteen redzone targets (Rucker-11 and Summers-8) on the season. Who do the Red Wolves play on Saturday? Appalachian State. Appalachian State allows thirty-five fantasy points per game to opposing outside wide receivers, which is the 10th most in the nation.

I know Hunter Summers has been a “leftover” all season, but I know my mom has packed him away in one of these many containers of Thanksgiving leftovers I have in the refrigerator. I just hope what I laid out helps us pick the “right” Country Crock butter container!

Tight End

Jyrin Johnson, Bowling Green

Fantrax Rostership: 11%
Total Fantasy Points: 91.6
Fantasy Points Per Game: 8.3

As mentioned earlier in this article, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Jyrin Johnson leads the Falcons in red-zone targets with five. Actually, Jyrin’s five redzone targets are tied for first in the nation amongst tight ends. He is also fifth in the nation in terms of target share amongst tight ends with 21.5%. Needless to say, Johnson’s 21.5% target share leads this Bowling Green Falcon squad. Given that he leads the team in target share and redzone targets, Jyrin Johnson is my Top G5 Final Waiver Wire Name at the tight end position for Week 14.
