Week 9 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Streamers

In week 9 of the NHL season, this is another strong week for goalies available on the waiver wire who could make a real difference in the short-term and long-term. We have three more for you today, so don’t waste time grabbing one if you’re in need of goaltending help.

Fantasy Hockey Week 9 Goalie Streamers

Jesper Wallstedt, Minnesota Wild

Jesper Wallstedt had only started three games this season up until November 7, as Jonas Gustavsson was the starter and playing well. But things started to change, and Wallstedt got two starts in a row, winning both and recording a shutout. From there, it has been an even split for the Minnesota Wild in net, and it benefits anyone who sees Wallstedt still on the waiver wire.

In Wallstedt’s last five starts, he has recorded three shutouts. That’s undeniable. He also did what seems impossible this season and defeated the Colorado Avalanche, also limiting them to only two goals. On the season, the young goalie has won seven of nine starts and has a 1.93 GAA, .938 SV%, and three shutouts. The Wild go on a Western Canada road trip to play the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, and Vancouver Canucks. With Gustavsson having played the previous game, expect two starts from Wallstedt.

Dan Vladar, Philadelphia Flyers

Dan Vladar was featured here last week, and despite continual strong play, he isn’t much trusted by the community as a whole. Well, that’s better for you if he’s available to be added, as he has posted a .906 SV% or better in six of his past seven games and has won six of his past eight games. The Philadelphia Flyers are better than many give them credit for. A big part of that is Vladar.

Vladar has 10 wins in 15 starts and is playing with a 2.43 GAA and .912 SV%. The Flyers have also been able to give him frequent goal support, so his chances of winning on any given night are solid. The Flyers face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, then the Buffalo Sabres, followed by the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. The three games are on slower nights, which could really benefit you, but the Avalanche are a tough end to the week.

Devin Cooley, Calgary Flames

Dustin Wolf is the starter for the Calgary Flames, but recently Devin Cooley has been playing better and getting more time in the net. Wolf played Sunday after Cooley appeared in the net for four of the previous five games, starting three and winning all of them. As the Flames still think they can compete, they should continue to ride the hot hand.

The Flames have an easier week with the Nashville Predators, Utah Mammoth, and Minnesota Wild on tap. Even if those teams shut down the offense, they don’t score a ton. Cooley has a 2.01 GAA and .930 SV% on the season, while Wolf has been greatly overplayed and has a 3.17 GAA and .890 SV%. It is time and is expected that they will split a little more time.

This week, I would try to target the goalies in the order as they appear above, as Wallstedt has been unstoppable, Vladar has been great and is the clear starter, and Cooley is a good pure streaming option. Come back in the next two days for streamer suggestions at forward and defense.
