Defensemen on the waiver wire are as slim as they normally are, but if you dig deep enough, there are some players to stream that will do the trick if you are in need of someone on the back-end. So let’s dive into the three top streamer options for fantasy hockey this week.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Defensemen to Target for Week 10
Ivan Provorov, Columbus Blue Jackets
Ivan Provorov does almost everything you could want from a defenseman, but comes up a little short overall to be someone to hold onto for the entire season unless Zach Werenski were to go down with an injury. Provorov has averaged over 28 minutes per game over the past two weeks and has contributed one goal and four points in the last four games.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have scored at least five goals in three of the past four games, so as Provorov is playing on the top pairing with Werenski, on the second power-play unit, and first penalty kill unit, he is getting plenty of opportunities to produce at both ends of the ice. Provorov regularly shoots, hits, and blocks shots, so when the points are coming, he’s worth the addition. The Blue Jackets close out the week playing the Ottawa Senators and the Vegas Golden Knights.
Kris Letang, Pittsburgh Penguins
Kris Letang has recently started to play more consistently for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The veteran, while still on the second power-play unit, has two power-play points in the last three games and a goal and five points in the last five games.
Letang is on the top pairing and very consistently shoots, hits, and blocks shots each game. You know what you are getting with Letang, and the Penguins can score. He has been nicely in on that action over this recent stretch of games, and the Penguins match up against the Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, and Utah Mammoth, being one of the only teams that has three games remaining this week.
Ryan Pulock, New York Islanders
All the talk this season for the New York Islanders has been surrounding Matthew Schaefer, and for good reason. But the Islanders still have some other good defensemen, like Ryan Pulock, who has recently stepped up his game offensively to match his impact on the games defensively.
Pulock has five assists in the past six games and is now up to 14 assists in 30 games. Considering he technically doesn’t have a role on the power play, it is pretty impressive that he can chip in offensively in half of the games and has still recorded a power-play point in his recent stretch. Pulock is more impactful when it comes to blocking shots and hitting, not so much shooting, but he has his moments. The Islanders play the Anaheim Ducks without Lukas Dostal and Petr Mrazek, and then play the Tampa Bay Lightning without Andrei Vasilevskiy this week.
