Week 12 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Streamers

Week 12 in the NHL is an interesting one as there are only four days of hockey action due to the Christmas freeze for three days. This is for most fantasy leagues, so that’s what this week is going to be based around for streamers.

Fantasy Hockey Week 12 Goalie Streamers

John Gibson, Detroit Red Wings

John Gibson has been red hot for the Detroit Red Wings and is fully settled in the starter role over Cam Talbot. Gibson has been the hottest goalie over the past two-plus weeks. The veteran has won seven games in a row with a 2.11 GAA, .934 SV%, and two shutouts.

Gibson has started seven of the past 10 games for the Red Wings, and two of those games he sat were the second of a back-to-back. The team in front of him struggled to win much when he was in net before this win streak, but it seems like the norm now. The Red Wings play the Dallas Stars and then the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs on a back-to-back after the break. Gibson should start twice against good teams, but even he may be able to topple those beasts.

Alex Lyon, Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres have fully committed to riding Alex Lyon in goal for the time being. The GM was just swapped and they seem serious in trying to make the playoffs, especially now having won five games in a row. Lyon has been in net for all five of those wins and posted a .938 SV% or better in three of those games.

With Colten Ellis injured and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen struggling and not really playing, Lyon is the clear favourite to play both games the Sabres have this week against the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins.

Anton Forsberg, Los Angeles Kings

Darcy Kuemper, the starter for the Los Angeles Kings, was placed on the injured reserve earlier last week and should stay on there to give Anton Forsberg, the starter for the time being, a clear path to starting every game. He even went back-to-back last week, showing what the Kings think of anyone beyond him and Kuemper in net right now.

The Kings haven’t been playing great, but Forsberg won his last game with a .969 SV%. The Kings have three games this week against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Seattle Kraken, and Anaheim Ducks, so at least an easier schedule going into the break. With the first two games being on a back-to-back, there is a possibility the Kings throw Forsberg in for both games against before the three day break.
