Week 18 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Streamers

It’s an interesting week or part of a week in fantasy hockey due to the upcoming Olympic break. There are only games up until Thursday, so don’t expect any goalie streamers to help you more than twice in that span.

Fantasy Hockey Week 18 Goalie Streamers

Alex Lyon, Buffalo Sabres

For the time being while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is on the injured reserve, Alex Lyon is the clear starter and he is playing excellently. He had won 10 games in a row, a Buffalo Sabres franchise record, before losing his last start to the Montreal Canadiens.

With the Sabres playing three times this week and on a back-to-back, Lyon is pretty much locked into two starts, probably against the Florida Panthers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has a 2.64 GAA, .913 SV%, 13 wins, and two shutouts this season.

Nikita Tolopilo, Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks aren’t a good team and are last in the league, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a good stretch of games or play better the rest of the way as players see more opportunities. This is the case for Nikita Tolopilo at the moment. Thatcher Demko is injured for the rest of the season and he was recalled.

Tolopilo has now appeared in three consecutive games. He has allowed just four goals in those three games, one as a 54-minute relief appearance, and won one of the games, shutting out the Anaheim Ducks. While he wasn’t technically awarded the shutout, he should’ve had it. The Canucks play the Utah Mammoth and the Vegas Golden Knights two days apart. Right now, there isn’t a reason for Tolopilo not to play while he’s hot heading into the break, as Kevin Lankinen hasn’t been good.

Your Choice of Three Goalies

We’re mixing things up this week for the third spot because of this odd week. Instead of just one goalie, I’ll highlight three who will more than likely only play once if that’s all you need. Jakub Dobes, Alex Nedeljkovic, and Philipp Grubauer have all been playing well, but are in a tandem with another goalie and are splitting starts.

Dobes has started three in a row and won all three, posting a .917 SV%. The Canadiens play the Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets, so Sam Montembeault will likely get a start. Nedeljkovic was splitting starts with Yaroslav Askarov from the start of January until just recently, when Askarov went two in a row. The San Jose Sharks play twice this week against the Chicago Blackhawks and Colorado Avalanche, so Nedeljkovic will likely get one of the starts, too. And as for Grubauer, he has a .933 SV% over his last three starts and won two of them. The Seattle Kraken haven’t been afraid to play him two times in a row recently, but he also just sat out twice in a row. The Kraken play the Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings back-to-back, so he’ll get a start.

With limited games this week, these goalies should be able to provide. Be sure to come back the next two days for forwards and defense streams as well.
