Week 18 marks the first full scoring period after the All-Star break, and for many fantasy basketball managers, this is where the real sprint begins. Playoff races are tightening, rotations are shifting, and the margin for error is shrinking fast. Your Week 18 fantasy basketball waiver wire picks may be the most important of the season.
Monday night consists of only three games. Every other day features at least five games, highlighted by 11 games on Tuesday and 10 on Thursday. Some teams are already eyeing lottery odds, but plenty are still battling for playoff or Play-In positioning. Remember to stay vigilant like never before, as this is where it counts most.
The Clippers and Suns are the only teams playing just two games, putting a hard cap on fantasy ceilings. Boston and Milwaukee both have back-to-backs on Tuesday/Wednesday and Sunday/Monday. The Warriors and Raptors play only one game after Wednesday, making early-week production critical. Every team playing on Monday has four games this week, except Utah, which only plays three.
Deep League Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire
Javon Small — G, Grizzlies
Small has quietly scored 26 points over his last two games while logging 26+ minutes in both. His game has some Ja Morant-lite elements — downhill pressure, confidence with the ball, and scoring instincts.
Minutes drive fantasy value, and Small is getting them currently. He’s a legitimate steal while the role holds.
Tristan Vukcevic — F/C, Wizards
With Alex Sarr expected to miss at least another week, Vukčević should continue seeing extended run. In four starts this season, he’s averaged: 12 points, 1.3 threes, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and a block per gam,e all while seeing 20 mins per game.
His two-way contract limits long-term safety. However, Vukčević is a strong per-minute producer, and you don’t need 30 minutes for him to pay off. He should not be sitting on waivers in deep formats right now.
Alondes Williams — G, Wizards
Williams hadn’t played at all before the last three games. He’s now logged 27+ minutes in three straight games. The Wizards’ youth movement remains chaotic, but if you’re buying trends, this is one worth tracking.
He exploded Friday with 25 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two threes, then followed it up with a quieter 8-7-3 line Sunday.
Williams is on a 10-day contract, which caps the safety here. He’s more watch-list than must-add, but if Washington keeps giving him real run, he’s somewhat to pick up
Precious Achiuwa — F/C, Kings
Sacramento’s frontcourt is in survival mode. With Domantas Sabonis done for the year and Dylan Cardwell sidelined for a month, minutes are suddenly available. Achiuwa played 34 minutes on Thursday and produced 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. On Saturday, he followed this performance with 14 points, 3 boards, 4 assists, and a steal. Picking him up makes sense, considering Dylan Cardwell is out for multiple weeks with an ankle injury. Maxime Raynaud and Achiuwa will be seeing the minutes going forward.
Jared McCain – G, Thunder
McCain is taking advantage of some increased playing time with his new team in Oklahoma City. He’s played at least 22 mins in 3 of the four games. Unfortunately, once OKC gets fully strength he will not be as useful. However, OKC plays 4 games this week.
Isaiah Joe – G, Thunder
Joe isn’t flashy, but he’s been steady — scoring 17+ points in five of his last seven games. He’s an efficient scorer from three, and the line keeps him useful when you need points without tanking percentages.
Micah Potter – F/C, Pacers
Potter has logged 26+ minutes in five straight games, scoring in double figures in four of them. Even with Pascal Siakam returning, Indiana appears comfortable resting him occasionally and letting Potter absorb meaningful center minutes.
As long as that pattern continues, Potter remains a hold.
