NASCAR DFS: Quaker State 400 @ Echopark Speedway

Welcome back, NASCAR fans. This week, the Cup Series heads to Echopark Speedway in Hampton, Georgia, for the Quaker State 400. The race will be the second trip to Atlanta this season and the fourth of six superspeedway races.

In this article, we will preview the track, fantasy angle, and look at some drivers who stand out in the pre-qualifying model.

Track Preview & Fantasy Angle

While we classify Echopark Speedway as a superspeedway due to the drafting-style component like Talladega and Daytona, it is more of a hybrid. The 1.5-mile track was renovated into its current setup back in 2022 and has created some very exciting racing.

Like Talladega and Daytona, place differential is the name of the game. We have seen 10 or more drivers tally double-digit place differential in six straight races and eight or more in all nine races here with the new configuration. While targeting drivers starting near the front isn’t recommended, we can definitely look closely at the driver on the pole. Seven times in nine races, the pole sitter has been one of the top dominators and won the race three times, most recently with Tyler Reddick earlier this year.

Top Pre-Qualifying Targets for DraftKings

Tyler Reddick ($10,500)

Reddick only comes in at #8 in my pre-qualifying model, but is definitely on my radar this week. He won the Atlanta race earlier this season from the pole, leading 53 laps, and has finished 6th or better in three of his last four trips to the track. He is also the only driver with multiple wins on superspeedways since the start of last season. He is coming off two brutal 36th-place finishes, resulting in a loss of the points lead, but I feel Toyota will be strong again, giving Reddick a great shot to get back on track this week.

Chase Elliott ($9,900)

We find Elliott right at the top of the pre-qualifying model this week as he checks a lot of boxes. It starts with the track history, as he won the summer race here in 2025, leads all drivers with a 9.4 average finish, and is one of just three drivers with multiple wins at the track since the conversion to a hybrid superspeedway. He is second behind Reddick in average finish on all superspeedways since the start of last year and has finished 11th or better in six of his last seven.

Carson Hocevar ($8,700)

Hocevar comes in right behind Elliott in the rankings as he returns to Atlanta with three straight Top 10 finishes, including two top 5s, and is second with a 10.2 average finish at the track. He picked up his first career win at Talladega in the spring and leads all drivers with six top 10s in the last nine superspeedway races going back to the start of 2025.

Daniel Suarez ($7,200)

Outside of being caught up in three wrecks at the new hybrid Atlanta, Suarez has been nearly dominant here. He won the spring race in 2024, leads all drivers with five top-5 finishes, is second with six top-10s, and is 5th in average finish (12.9). Most of those results also led to big fantasy days as he has qualified outside 23rd in six of the last seven. The success here checks out as he has also been very good overall on all superspeedways, ranking 5th in average finish (15.0) since the start of last season and has finished 13th or better in five straight.

Zane Smith ($6,800)

Smith is right there with Suarez in terms of projected PTS/$ value based on the pre-qualifying factors. He returns to Atlanta with back-to-back top 10s and has finished 11th or better in three straight, as well. His superspeedway form also matches Suarez, where he ranks just ahead of him with a 14.8 average finish and is the only driver with four straight top 10s at superspeedway tracks.
