2026 Fantasy Football: Week 8 Weekend Waiver Stashes

Welcome back, my little waiver ghouls! This is a scary Weekend Waiver Wire in Week 8.

It’s Halloween weekend, and nothing is scarier than opening your fantasy lineup to find three byes, two questionable tags, and a running back whose coach promises to “get him more involved.” I am shaking with fear here, thinking about it.

Week 8 is here, and we’re rummaging through the waiver bowl for something better than a touchdown-dependent fun-sized receiver; we want full-sized candy, damn it.  Whether you need an emergency starter or a stash who could come alive later in the season, we’re hunting for players with opportunity, not just a guy wearing a league-winner costume.

The best treats often disappear before Sunday’s games. Let’s fill those benches before your league mates come knocking.

Week 8 Weekend Waiver Wire

Quarterbacks

Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins

He has topped 20 fantasy points with multiple touchdowns in two straight games, including 245 passing yards and three passing scores in Week 7. He has also logged eight carries and a rushing touchdown in each of his last two outings—true Konami Code production. If you need a bye-week replacement, his dual-threat ability makes him a strong streaming option.

Geno Smith, New York Jets

Geno Smith is coming off a 287-yard, three-touchdown passing performance and draws another favorable matchup in Week 8. The Raiders allow the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, putting him back in the streaming conversation. Geno remains matchup-dependent, but he has shown he can capitalize when the opponent cooperates.

Other quarterbacks to consider

  • Michael Penix, Atlanta Falcons: 472 yards, 3 TDs
  • Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals: 272 yards, TD (Plays the Cowboys in Week 8)

Quarterback Notes: Willis would be my first choice in a standard league, while Geno is worth adding if you need help next week. Penix is another solid option, with at least one passing touchdown in every game this season and more than 200 yards with three passing scores in each of his last two outings. Brissett also draws a favorable Week 8 matchup, making him a useful plug-and-play option.

Running Backs

Devin Singletary, New York Giants

He finished Week 7 with 41 rushing yards and a touchdown, adding three catches on three targets for 14 yards. The Giants are on bye in Week 8, but hamstring injuries to both Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy could create a significant opportunity when they return. He is worth stashing now while we await updates on the backfield.

Kaelon Black, San Francisco 49ers

Black turned 12 carries into 63 yards and a touchdown in Week 7, while Christian McCaffrey briefly exited with a thigh injury. San Francisco’s Week 8 bye gives McCaffrey time to recover, but Black is worth stashing as backfield insurance with upside if more work becomes available. Add Black, hold Black, and don’t look back.

Other running backs to consider:

  • Dylan Sampson, Cleveland Browns: 6 carries, 45yards; 3 targets, 3 receptions, 32 yards receiving
  • Seth McGowan, Indianapolis Colts: 11 carries, 46 yards; 1 target, 1 reception, 2 yards
  • Sean Tucker, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 7 carries, 52 yards, TD
  • Bam Knight, Arizona Cardinals: 7 carries, 48 yards; 5 targets, 3 receptions, 15 yards

Running Back Notes: Sampson offers immediate help in PPR formats, while McGowan is the upside stash to watch amid Jonathan Taylor trade rumors. As the only other Colts running back to see snaps, McGowan would become a priority add if Taylor is moved, with a chance to lead the backfield. Tucker continues to flash explosiveness when given opportunities, and Knight remains in the mix if Jeremiyah Love misses additional time.

Wide Receivers

Ryan Flournoy, Dallas Cowboys

George Pickens is dinged up and has not been a full participant in practice so far this week. The Cowboys have been running three wide receiver sets all season, and Flournoy has been on the field for over 70% of the season. Flournoy has over 70 yards or a touchdown in three straight games. If Pickens is out, he is a WR2.

Jakobi Meyers, Jacksonville Jaguars

In Week 7, Meyers saw a whopping 10 targets. He turned those into 5 receptions and 83 yards. With Brian Thomas disappearing like the monster under your bed when the lights get turned on, Meyers saw an uptick in volume. He is a good addition in PPR leagues, especially.

Other Wide Receivers to Consider

  • Caleb Douglas, Miami Dolphins: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 70 yards, TD
  • Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders: 12 targets, 5 receptions, 103 yards, TD
  • Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles: 8 targets, 7 receptions, 67 yards, TD
  • Antonio Williams, Washington Commanders: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 50 yards

Wide Receiver Notes: Tre Tucker remains a matchup-dependent option who has shown he can deliver against favorable defenses. Douglas made the most of his three targets, but that limited volume keeps him on the watch list for now. With Terry McLaurin out for the season, Antonio Williams is worth considering as an opportunity-based addition. Lemon also deserves attention after leading the Eagles in production in Week 7.

Tight Ends

Mason Taylor, New York Jets

He has 6 targets in each of the past two games. In Week 7, he turned those 6 targets into 5 receptions for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns. In Week 8, he gets another easy matchup as the Jets face the Raiders. The Raiders give up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends.

Chig Okonkwo, Washington Commanders

Okonkwo filled the stats sheet in Week 7: 7 targets, 7 receptions, and 69 yards. Terry McLaurin is out for the rest of the season. Chig will be getting Chiggy with it for weeks to come. He picked up volume in Week 7 after Scary Terry left the game.

Other Tight Ends to Consider

  • Colby Parkinson, Los Angeles Rams: 6 targets, 5 receptions, 48 yards
  • Eli Raridon, New England Patriots: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 56 yards, TD
  • Greg Dulcich, Miami Dolphins: 5 targets, 5 receptions, 86 yards

Tight End Notes: Parkinson’s six touchdowns and back-to-back five-catch games make him worth your attention. In leagues that require two tight ends, Raridon is an add now as New England continues to find ways to involve the talented rookie. Dulcich is also worth monitoring, though we need to see whether his recent target volume carries into Week 8.

My Priority Order

  1. Chig Okonkwo, TE
  2. Ryan Flournoy, WR
  3. Jakobi Meyers, WR
  4. Antonio Williams, WR
  5. Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles
  6. Bam Knight, RB
  7. Dylan Sampson, RB
  8. Kaelon Black, RB
  9. Mason Taylor, TE
  10. Devin Singletary, RB
