Daily Preview and NBA DFS Picks for 11/13/21

Don’t let college football steal the show on this beautiful Saturday! We’ve got a very sturdy six game NBA slate on tap tonight. The beauty of NBA DFS is that every day is a new day. However hot or cold you’ve been doesn’t matter. The basketball grind never sleeps, so we’ve been grinding to help you with your research.

Playing NBA DFS can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also make your head spin. It’s our job to make sure you’re winning as much as possible! There are countless variables that can lead to a player’s individual performance, but I’ve found it’s best to focus on just a few that can lead to better predictability.

My favorite factors to track for NBA DFS targets: Matchups (Offensive/Defensive Ratings), Opportunity (expected player minutes, game pace), and Recent Form.

This is the AM VERSION of a living article that will be updated throughout the day, as news comes through the wire.

LET’S GET INTO THE SLATE!!!!

NBA DFS Targets and Preview for November 13

76ers (8-5) vs. Pacers (5-8)

The 76ers have stayed competitive despite Joel Embiid being out due to COVID protocols. Tobias Harris making his return to the lineup certainly has helped. They’ll be going up against an inconsistent Pacers team that has had their own lineup issues with Caris LeVert missing time. The talent in Indiana isn’t matching their 5-8 record. With playoff talent like they have, they should also be doing better than the 16th best net rating in the league. Average isn’t good enough against the 6th best net rating in the league. Philly’s role players are stepping up in the face of injuries. Tobias and Drummond are holding down the fort. I don’t expect Philly to have any problems tonight, especially if Caris LeVert misses the game. Sixers.

DFS Targets: PHI targets: Harris, Drummond, Milton, and Korkmaz. IND targets: Brogden, LeVert (if he plays), Sabonis, and Turner.

Wizards (8-3) vs. Magic (3-9)

My squad is shocking the heck out of me. I figured once they traded away a future Hall of Fame for a group of assets that their former teams didn’t value, that Brad Beal would be the next domino to fall. The Wiz would be in full tank mode. NOPE! THEY’RE CURRENTLY THE #1 SEED IN THE EAST! Maybe it’s Wes Unseld’s preparation. Maybe it’s the depth of the team. Perhaps it’s just a small sample size. One thing is for sure: The 3-9 Magic should lose this game.

DFS Targets: WAS targets: Dinwiddie, KCP, Kuzma, Gafford, and Harrell. Beal will be out for personal reasons tonight. ORL targets: Carter Jr., Anthony, and Suggs (for value).

Grizzlies (6-6) vs. Pelicans (1-12)

DFS doesn’t need to be as hard as we make it sometimes. The Pelicans are 1-12. They don’t have Zion. Brandon Ingram has been injured, and he’s missed so much time that when he comes back, I’m sure he’ll be on a minutes restriction. I expect the team that’s last in net rating to continue to play like it. Grizzlies will take this one.

DFS Targets: I’ll pass on this game. Potential blowouts scare me, as it’s hard to hit your value if you’re only playing three quarters of minutes. If the usage is concentrated, Ja Morant might be playable.

Pistons (2-9) vs. Raptors (7-6)

Honestly, this is a copy and paste situation for me. Just like the Pelicans above, the Pistons are also a wasteland team at the moment. They’re 29th in net rating, and Cade Cunningham is still getting his sea legs (understandably). They don’t even have Kelly Olynyk to do all the dirty work that has kept him (and will keep him) getting 25+ minutes per game for the rest of his career. I expect the Raptors to take this one easily.

DFS Targets: If you need to target someone from this game, I’d lean on Fred VanVleet.

Celtics (6-6) vs. Cavaliers (8-5)

This should be an interesting game. The Celtics are coming off of a recent player’s only meeting where I assume they addressed their play-style (give the ball to Jaylen and Jayson and watch what happens). Most recently, Brown is out, which has helped usage get spread around more, but made the Celtics a less dangerous team. The Cavs are playing really well, despite Sexton being out. Garland, Rubio, Allen, and Mobley are looking like a playoff team. These teams are 17th and 15th in net rating, respectively. I expect the Cavs to win this one, but it should be close.

DFS Targets: BOS targets: Tatum, Smart, Horford, Dennis the menace. CLE targets: Garland, Rubio, Allen, and Mobley.

Timberwolves (4-7) vs. Clippers (7-4)

The Wolves are once again underperforming their talent, but in that inconsistency comes surprises. Like the Wolves beating the Lakers last night by 24. Sometimes you can’t call it. For what it’s worth, I don’t expect the Wolves to pull off the same kind of surprise tonight. Especially against the Clippers who are 6th in net rating, and inexplicably have the 3rd best defense in the league. You can’t do much about KAT scoring because most of his points come from the paint, but KAT still takes too many threes and will have trouble against this defense. Ant will likely be tamed as well. I like LA in this one.

DFS Targets: MIN targets: Edwards (but only because his price is reasonable). LAC targets: George and Batum.

Don’t forget to check back later in the day as Bradlee will be updating his NBA DFS preview with all the info you need to turn tonight’s slate into a resounding success!
