Attacking the Green!: 2026 Biltmore Championship Asheville Stats Breakdown and Best Bets

Welcome back, golf fans. If you have been missing betting on the PGA Tour over the last couple of weeks since Scottie Scheffler won the Tour Championship, I have some good news for you! The eight-event fall schedule tees off this week with a new event, the Biltmore Championship Asheville. While the field lacks the heavy hitters that we saw at the Tour Championship, we get to see a ton of young up-and-coming stars looking to position themselves for the upcoming 2027 season. It also means another chance to build our bankrolls. Let’s get it!

The Course: The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

The course is a unique one in that the Par 71 setup consists of five par 3’s, four par 5’s, and just nine par 4s. Three of the par 3s are over 200 yards, and all five are over 185 yards, so not only does par 3 scoring get a boost this week, but so will long iron approaches. With narrow, winding fairways that are tree-lined and scattered with well-positioned bunkers, I am looking more towards accuracy off the tee this week. With very scoreable par 4s and 5s, it feels like the winner should be able to get close to or exceed the -20 range and that starts with positioning off the tee. When breaking down the projected approach shot buckets, I am looking towards mid to long irons but more of an overall Strokes Gained: Approach weighting. With a GIR rate that should be above-average, I won’t look to around-the-green play very much but will look to Strokes Gained: Putting overall and performance on Bentgrass greens.

Stats & Trends That Matter: Finding the 2026 Biltmore Championship Asheville Best Bets

Davis Thompson (+2500 Outright / +240 Top 10)

I really wanted to back Jackson Koivun this week but not ready to bet that low of number on him at this point. Instead, I will jump into the next tier with Davis Thompson, who leads this field in SG: Approach over the last 20 rounds, gaining a whopping 25 strokes, almost six more than the golfer in second over that span. He won the John Deere Classic back in 2023 for his only PGA Tour win thus far, and while he had just four Top 10s in 2026, two of them came in his last three events. The putter is the wildcard, but if he can sink some puts this week with his elite approach play, he should be in contention for another Top 10 and possibly another win this week in a softer field.

Kevin Yu (+3700 Outright / +325 Top 10 / +154 Top 20)

An overall scope of the 2026 season looks disappointing, as Yu only made 11 of 20 cuts, but the great news here is that he found form at the end of the season. He finished Top 25 in three of his four events, including a season-high 4th place finish at the Wyndham Championship. In those final four events, he also gained strokes off the tee, on approach, and putting together in all four, ranking 3rd in this field in SG: Total. He is also 5th in this field when looking at performance in weaker-field events.

Ben Kohles (+5500 Outright / +185 Top 20)

It was a consistent 2026 season for the veteran Kohles, who finished the season not only making seven straight cuts but finishing Top 30 in each of those, including his only two Top 10s. During that stretch, he ranked 1st in SG: Total, 1st in SG: Approach, and has been above average (29th) in putting. His ball striking has been elite; he has been excellent with the long irons and makes a ton of birdies. I love his chances of capturing a Top 20 this week, which is my best bet with him, but I will also sprinkle some on the outright in hopes of his first career win.

Lucas Glover (+910 Top 10 / 385 Top 20)

In no way do I think Glover will contend for a win this week, but I do think there is some value in the secondary markets. He is coming off an ugly finish to the season with back-to-back missed cuts at the Wyndham Championship and Rocket Classic but returns to a weak-field event, which has been his bread and butter. He leads this field in SG: Total in these soft-field events and has tallied a top-5 finish in each of his other two (John Deere Classic, ISCO Championship) that have qualified as such. Looking at the 2026 stats, he ranks (in this field) 4th in driving accuracy, 21st in SG: Approach, and Top 15 in all three proximity ranges from 150 to 200+ yards.
