Most head-to-head leagues are now in the semi-finals of the playoffs and there is very little time to gain ground in roto leagues, so every fantasy basketball waiver wire add is crucial at this stage. It is extremely important to take full advantage of NBA teams resting their stars allowing other relatively unknown players to break out. Let’s take a look at some of the waiver wire adds for week 21.Â
Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds
Jaylin Williams, PF/C, Oklahoma City Thunder
Williams has had an expanded role due to the Thunder resting players down the stretch for the playoffs. Also, Chet Holmgren recently sustained a strained left hip, which could open up even more minutes for Williams. He is averaging 15.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.0 three-pointers over his last three contests. Williams is also shooting .682 from the field and .857 from the free-throw line over that span. If you’re looking for a player who can provide solid stats across the board, consider Williams a priority fantasy basketball waiver wire add.Â
Kai Jones, C, Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks barely have enough healthy bodies to dress for games at this point in the season. Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively, and Daniel Gafford are all out with injuries in the frontcourt, giving Jones all the minutes he can handle. He is averaging 16.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game over his last three games. Jones has made 22 of his last 25 field goal attempts. If you need true big man stats, give Jones a look as a possible fantasy basketball waiver wire add.Â
Justin Edwards, PG/SG/SF, Philadelphia 76ers
Edwards is an immediate fantasy basketball waiver wire add if you’re looking for a scorer. The 76ers are missing all their key players, including Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey. These injuries have allowed Edwards to shoulder most of the scoring load. He is averaging 21.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 3.3 three-pointers, and 1.0 block over the last four games. Edwards has shot over 50 percent from the field as well. He should be able to keep up the production the rest of the way as the “Big Three” for the 76ers are likely out the rest of the season.Â
Ryan Dunn, PG/SG/SF/PF, Phoenix Suns
Dunn has been able to play a prominent role with Bradley Beal out of the lineup. He has recorded at least 23 minutes in each of his last five games. Over that span, he is averaging 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 three-pointers. However, his real fantasy value has been his defense, racking up 1.8 steals and 1.0 block in his last five contests. If you need an added boost in the “stocks” department, Dunn should be at the top of your list of fantasy basketball waiver wire adds.
