Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Week 23 Forward Streams

It is likely the first or second week of playoffs in your fantasy hockey leagues, and that means that you will have to be on top of maximizing the production from players on your team. This is where waiver wire pickups come in. After scouring the players most likely available in your leagues, here are some of the best streaming options at forward for Week 23.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 23

Dylan Cozens, Ottawa Senators

The more games the better for forwards and defensemen that you’re streaming, so this first one comes as a great potential addition. Dylan Cozens and the Ottawa Senators play four times this week and he has been good since being traded by the Buffalo Sabres. He lines up at center on a productive second line and jumped right onto the top power-play unit.

In eight games since Ottawa acquired him, Cozens has three goals and seven points, 20 shots, and 31 hits. Two of his points have come on the power play, so he is providing. In banger leagues, his value has risen immensely as his first two games for the Senators saw him record 17 hits. The Senators play the Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Pittsburgh Penguins this week. There is a great opportunity to have a big week.

Jonathan Huberdeau, Calgary Flames

Jonathan Huberdeau is slowly returning to form and playing his best hockey for the Calgary Flames. The veteran is hot at the right time as he has two goals and five points in his last two games and five goals and nine points in his last six games, scoring in all but one. Huberdeau lines up on an exciting second line with Matthew Coronato and Morgan Frost and is also on the top power-play unit and second penalty killing unit. The more exposure to ice time, the better for managers who have him in fantasy.

Huberdeau and the Flames have been productive on the power play, and being on the penalty kill and playing strong defensively allows him to get more blocked shots as well. He will also throw in some hits here and there. The Flames might not have four games on tap this week, but the team plays the Seattle Kraken, Dallas Stars, and Edmonton Oilers who will likely be without Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. It’s not an excellent schedule, but Huberdeau has been producing against anyone and everyone.

Jake Neighbours, St. Louis Blues

We dive a little deeper for Jake Neighbours, but he has been great nonetheless. The St. Louis Blues are rolling and winning games, getting them into the final playoff spot in the West at this time. This has come with production up and down the lineup, including a young Neighbours, who has always played physical and is now hot offensively.

Neighbours is on the top line and on an excellent second power-play unit with Jordan Kyrou, Dylan Holloway, Brayden Schenn, and Justin Faulk. Neighbours has three goals and nine points in his last eight games and six goals and 15 points in his last 14 games. His production offensively has been steady and you can always count on him to deliver hits. He has also fought in two of the last four games for an added bonus. The Blues face off against the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and Colorado Avalanche this week.
