Week 9 DST Streamers

Last Week’s Stashes: Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams

Baltimore Ravens (at Miami Dolphins)

Fantrax Rostership: 99% (Other Platforms: 30% – 32%)

Despite the sky-high Fantrax rostership, the Ravens are widely available on many other platforms. Baltimore has been getting much healthier on defense since losing nearly every starter just a few weeks ago. They visit a Dolphins team that just scored 34 against a great Falcons defense.

Even before they got hit by the injury bug, Baltimore’s defense was a major letdown. The Ravens only have 4 turnovers in 7 games, tied with the Packers for the second fewest in the league. Teams have had their way against the Ravens, scoring 37+ points in 4 games so far. To their credit, the Ravens have kept their last two opponents at bay. The Rams scored 17, and the Bears only managed 16. Miami’s offense ranks worse than both of them but they have managed to score 21+ points in 6 of their 8 games this year.

Despite their relative offensive success, the Dolphins offense has given up a lot of fantasy points to DSTs this year. Tua Tagovailoa leads the league with 10 interceptions despite facing off against some of the weakest defenses in the league. Injuries to Tyreek Hill and Darren Waller have also affected the offense, though they still managed to succeed last week. The Ravens do not boast a top unit, but they are healthier and can slow down an inconsistent offense. Stream them in Week 9.

Los Angeles Chargers (at Tennessee Titans)

Fantrax Rostership: 87% (Other Platforms: 31% – 67%)

Cam Ward is on a historic pace. With 34 sacks taken in 8 games, he is on pace to get sacked 72 times this year. That would tie Randall Cunningham for the 2nd most in a season.

The Titans offense has not gotten better since firing HC Brian Callahan. Cam Ward has been throwing for more yards and TDs, but the team is also constantly losing and throwing the ball. Eventually, even a bad team scores. Ward has still not thrown for more than one TD in a game, and he’s on a 6-game interception streak. This is the best DST matchup in the league. You might be able to start even the worst defenses in the league against the Titans.

You can hold onto the Chargers for a few weeks, too. After this incredible matchup, they face the Steelers and Jaguars. Then they’re on bye before hosting the Raiders.

Los Angeles Rams (vs. New Orleans Saints)

Fantrax Rostership: 86% (Other Platforms: 36% – 42%)

Had it not been for an awful performance against Mac Jones and the 49ers in Week 6, the Rams might be fantasy’s DS1. While they haven’t opposed too many incredible QBs, they have taken advantage of their great matchups. Los Angeles is allowing the 3rd fewest yards per play, and they average 3.7 sacks per game. They host a Saints team that will start rookie QB Tyler Shough for the first time this season.

Shough technically played his first snaps against the Seahawks in September, but he only threw 2 incomplete passes. He came in for Spencer Rattler last week in a 23-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shough completed 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards and an interception. He ran 3 times for 12 yards but was sacked twice.

With so little to work off of, it is possible that Shough could surprise the league. However, he’s a 2nd round rookie for a team that has struggled to generate offense all year. It’s unfair to judge him off of a portion of a single game he was thrown into, but he must have known his time was coming soon. He also faces a stout Rams defense that generates fantasy points like crazy. As far as DST streamers go in Week 9, the Rams are a high-end option that rarely disappoints.

Jacksonville Jaguars (at Las Vegas Raiders)

Fantrax Rostership: 55% (Other Platforms: 8% – 10%)

The Jags were a stash from last week, and they get the second-best matchup in the league. The Las Vegas Raiders are home and coming off a bye, but Jacksonville’s defense is too good not to stream them.

Geno Smith is tied for the league lead in interceptions with 10. He’s also being sacked at the 8th-highest rate in the league. The Raiders have also struggled to score, even against middling opponents. They’ve only exceeded 20 points twice – in a 41-24 loss to the Commanders and a 25-24 loss to the Bears. The Jaguars defense has played significantly better than both.

Prior to a 35-7 blowout loss to the Rams, the Jaguars had scored at least 6 points every single week. They’re still averaging 10.4 fantasy points per game. Despite some much-needed rest for the Raiders, you cannot trust their offense. Jacksonville boasts a top-12 defense. Stream them in Week 9.

DSTs to Stash

Cleveland Browns

Despite a 32-13 loss to the Patriots, the Browns still finished as a top-10 DST last week. Cleveland recorded 6 sacks and 2 turnovers, saving what could have been an awful fantasy performance.

The Browns are on a bye this week before facing a Jets team that is also off. Cleveland has been pretty bad away from home, but they still boast one of the best defenses in the league. The Jets just got their first win of the season after dropping 39 on the worst defense in the league. This could have been the spark they needed, but they are still a top-10 offense for DSTs. You can even hold the Browns for longer as they get the Raiders and Titans shortly after.

Indianapolis Colts

While Indy hasn’t had too many boom weeks, they are a consistently solid DST for fantasy football. This week, they get the Steelers, but they host the Falcons in Week 10. Kirk Cousins started for Atlanta last week as Michael Penix Jr. dealt with a bone bruise. The team is calling him day-to-day, so it’s possible he suits up again as early as Week 9. Even if he does return healthy enough to play against the Colts, the Falcons offense is wildly inconsistent.

This isn’t the greatest matchup in the world, but it’s one to consider ahead of Week 10.

Seattle Seahawks

Much like the Rams, the Seahawks have been incredible for fantasy, minus one strikingly bad performance. Seattle has posted double-digit points in all but one game – a 38-35 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This week, they get the Commanders, who are looking like a much better matchup than expected. Jayden Daniels has missed multiple games, leading to Marcus Mariota starting for the team. That could hurt Seattle’s stash potential. If they are available, they could be worth a start. The Seahawks also get the Cardinals in Week 10. Seattle scored 15 points in a road win over the Cardinals. They’ll host them in a juicy fantasy matchup and should be a fairly good start.

Seattle’s defense ranks 3rd in DVOA and averages 11.6 points in standard Fantrax leagues.
