Week 9 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

It’s time to try and identify the top sleepers and streamers for Week 9. This edition is for wide receivers. Last week, there were a handful of misses. Hollwood Brown has been stunted by Rashee Rice. Devonta Smith played well, but only finished as the WR21.

As for DJ Moore needs a new home. The Chicago Bears’ wide receiver room is too crowded. Caleb Williams enjoys throwing it to Rome Odunze more than Moore. Moore finished as the WR32. He is too talented not to be finishing as a top 15 receiver every week.

Here are the sleepers and streamers for Week 9 of the fantasy football season.

Wide Receiver Sleepers

Calvin Austin vs. Indianapolis Colts

Calvin Austin’s best game came in Week 1 against the New York Jets. He finished as the WR16. In that game, he had 70 yards, four receptions, and a touchdown. He has had 97 yards in the other four games he has played in combined. The good news is that he faces the Colts. The Colts are giving up over 38 fantasy PPG to opposing wide receivers this season. There is bad news, though. The Colts are the best team in football. They have a 7-1 record. Also, the Colts are averaging the most YPG and the most PPG through eight weeks.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are averaging the 12th most PPG this season at 25. If the Steelers want a chance in this game, Aaron Rodgers will need to expand his view and target Austin just like he did in Week 1. Chances are it might not happen, but Austin is worth a “dart throw” in leagues if you are thin at receivers.

Rashod Bateman @ Miami Dolphins

The Baltimore Ravens got a much-needed win in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears. They are now 2-5 and have a shot at going on a run. It gets better for them as Lamar Jackson is set to return in Week 9, and they face the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are allowing the second-most fantasy PPG to receivers this season. With Lamar Jackson back in action, I believe he will be ready to make a return in a big way. Not only does Jackson finish as the QB1 in Week 9, but he also gets all his weapons involved, including Bateman. Bateman will have his best game of the season.

Wide Receiver Streamers

Jordan Addison @ Detroit Lions

Jordan Addison was suspended for the first three games of this season. Since his return, he has scored double-digit points in every game and has two touchdowns. This week, J.J. McCarthy is set to return in a divisional matchup against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are allowing the eighth most fantasy PPG this season with 36.17 PPG. The passing attack for the Vikings has to be clicking everywhere if they want a shot in this game. Addison will continue his great play in Week 9 and is one of the best streamers at the position.

Travis Hunter @ Las Vegas Raiders

Travis Hunter had his best game of his rookie season in Week 7. He had eight receptions, 14 targets, 101 yards, and a touchdown. He finished as the WR9. Brian Thomas Jr is also constantly getting hurt. Hunter is playing the Raiders. The Raiders are allowing 39.13 fantasy PPG. That is the fourth most this season. With how great he played two weeks ago, Hunter should be in your lineup if you roster him.
