This is a busy week in the NHL and there are plenty of good players available on the waiver wire. Some of them only play two more times, so I’ve skipped over those specific players on the Seattle Kraken, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, etc. for this week and went with the volume and potential.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards for Week 13
Steven Stamkos, Nashville Predators
Steven Stamkos has had a rough season, but things really started to turn around for him at the end of November. In his last 15 games, Stamkos has put up 11 goals and 17 points. He only had four goals and five points in his first 22 games. In his last eight games, he’s put up at least a point in six and has seven goals and 11 points.
Stamkos is back on the top power play and top line of the Nashville Predators and is taking advantage of it. The team really needs it, he is shooting plenty, and even hitting. The Predators match up against the Vegas Golden Knights, Seattle Kraken, and Calgary Flames this week.
Jackson Blake, Carolina Hurricanes
It’s not often a team plays five times in a week, but since this is coming out on Tuesday morning, we’ve missed one of the Carolina Hurricanes’ games. That’s completely fine, as they still have four more games this week against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche, and New Jersey Devils, three of which have serious goalie issues and will allow goals.
So I had to include a Hurricane in this week’s forward streams, and that player is Jackson Blake. Over the past six games, he has three goals and five points. Blake is in the top-6 and his role has increased because Seth Jarvis is on the IR, which means Blake is on the top power play as well, where he’s recorded three of his last five points. He really only shoots, other than producing points, but sometimes that’s all you need.
Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado Avalanche
Gabriel Landeskog hasn’t been the most consistent offensive player this season, even on a 28-2-7 Avalanche team, but he is still contributing, and he’s picking up his play as he gets back into NHL form. He is currently skating on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas, so that’s the best-case scenario for the captain right now.
Landeskog is even on the top power-play unit with the big guns, too, and has gotten a point in his last three games on the man advantage. He has a goal and five points in his last seven games, but that’s expected to pick up more with his opportunity. He’s shooting, hitting, and blocking shots, so he’s a strong all-around potential addition to your fantasy hockey squad. The Avalanche play the St. Louis Blues, Hurricanes, and Florida Panthers to close out the week.
