Games have already gotten going this week, but plenty of teams still play a couple of more times. That gives you a good chance to pick up some talented defensemen to stream for the remaining days and even longer past this week.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Defensemen to Target for Week 6
Jake Walman, Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers are one of the teams that still have three games remaining, most importantly, so whoever you stream from them will likely provide more value due to volume. The Oilers haven’t been doing so hot lately, but frustrations after getting blown out by the Colorado Avalanche and a comeback win against the Columbus Blue Jackets might have turned things around.
Jake Walman is one of the players who can easily step up his game, and he did with two goals and an assist in the previous game. He is up to three goals and 10 points in 11 games this season, will shoot, hit, and block shots. Walman tends to score in bunches, so with that big game from him, it could continue for the games against the Philadelphia Flyers, Blue Jackets again, and the Carolina Hurricanes.
Filip Hronek, Vancouver Canucks
Filip Hronek continues to play in a big role this season and is being just as productive as he normally is at around half a point per game. He has nine assists in 17 games this season and three in the last four games. Hronek has sprinkled in some production on the power play as well, recording three points even though he isn’t on the first unit when Quinn Hughes is healthy.
Hronek very consistently hits and blocks shots as he is a defensive-first defenseman who is more than capable of moving the puck and helping produce offense on a pairing with Hughes. He plays a ton, and the Canucks still have the Tampa Bay Lightning and Hurricanes on tap this week.
Sean Walker, Carolina Hurricanes
Speaking of the Hurricanes, they have been down men for most of this season, and Sean Walker has stepped up in a huge way, playing in all situations and playing a ton. While he was recently bumped to the second power-play unit because of the return of K’Andre Miller, he is still producing well. Walker has three goals and five points, one coming on the power play, in the last four games.
Walker adds shots, hits, and blocked shots, and does so whether he is in a bigger role or not. There’s no imminent return for half of the Carolina d-core, so he should remain in a large role for the remainder of the week. The Hurricanes play the Canucks and the Oilers to close out the week.
