Welcome back to the NFL DFS Late Slate!
Calling all DFS degenerates! Let’s face it: if you are reading this, you are either a DFS degenerate, a family member (my mom says I am the best fantasy analyst on the planet and that I am handsome), or you truly just enjoy my writing.
Know this if 3 PM rolls around on Sunday and your Main Slate play didn’t work out, you can put another lineup on the Late Slate. Yes, I do this. Actually, I play the late slate anyway. This week we get 8 total teams available. There are two games that should have high point totals, and we do like that.

Week 4 NFL DFS Late Slate Picks
Quarterbacks
Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings
Murray has been coming up short in fantasy production this season. That has made the people touting him look small in stature. Â But in Week 4, he plays the Dolphins. The Dolphins have done a lot to make quarterbacks feel good about themselves this season. Every quarterback who has played against the Dolphins has thrown multiple touchdowns this season. That should continue in Week 4.
- FanDuel: $7,200
- DraftKings: $5,300
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Purdy has thrown nine touchdowns this season and has another rushing touchdown. He has accounted for at least three touchdowns in each game. The guy simply produces week in and week out. Denver is up in Week 4. The Broncos are pretty much in the middle of the pack against the pass so far this season. Purdy should be in lineups in every format you can imagine. Brock sure looks purty throwing the football.
- FanDuel: $8,300
- DraftKings: $6,700
Running Backs
Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
The Niners play the Broncos in Week 4. The Broncos give up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing teams’ running backs. So we have CMC, one of the best fantasy football running backs ever, in a great matchup. McCaffrey has double-digit carries in every game this season and is heavily involved in the passing game as well, with a 20% target share. I can’t say much else; play him.
- FanDuel: $8,800
- DraftKings: $7,700
Kenneth Walker, Kansas City Chiefs
The Raiders are up in Week 4, and they are no slouch against the run. This Vegas defense has allowed only 1 touchdown to a running back this season. Why, Reedy, would you have Walker here in a crappy matchup? We, my dear friend Kenny, Sky Walker has over 20 touches in every single game this season. His sheer role in this offense means you can play him in DFS almost weekly.
- FanDuel: $8,500
- DraftKings: $8,200
Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings
Old man Jones will see over 20 touches this week. He is the best running back on the Vikings and the last one standing. We have volume, and he will get it. But it gets even better. The Vikings play the Dolphins. The Dolphins give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams’ running backs. I think he is a guy you are playing across the board in every format and may end up chalk. But this is the kind of chalk you want to be in on.
- FanDuel: $6,400
- DraftKings: $6,000
Wide Receivers
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle plays the Chargers this week, and their defense is middle of the road at defending wide receivers. But their defense doesn’t matter. JSN has a 41% target share through three games this season. Yes, you read that right: 41%. He will see massive volume, with 11 or more targets in every game. He has had at least 8 receptions, 122 yards, and a touchdown in each game this season. That is his floor. I hate hyphenated names, but I love Smith-Njigba.
- FanDuel: $9,500
- DraftKings: $9,100
Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers
We live in a strange world where Deebo can have zero catches, yet get 80 yards and a receiving touchdown. Yes, that happened in Week 3. The Niners’ wide receiver room is really banged up. The coaching staff gets very creative with giving Samuels the ball. He takes handoffs, catches passes, and whatever the heck they can think up. Deebo will most likely bully his way around the field in Week 4, as long as Kevin doesn’t show up with a brick.
- FanDuel: $7,000
- DraftKings: $5,600
Jaylen Waddle, Denver Broncos
I don’t expect a massive day from Waddle, since the Niners’ defense defends the pass well. Then why would you write about him, Reedy, these fantasy analysts sometimes? I do expect him to get some volume in Week 4. Waddle has 1 target over the past two games, and he even has a 14-yard carry. Denver is getting him more and more involved, and that will continue in Week 4.
- FanDuel: $6,600
- DraftKings: $6,200
Cooper Kupp, Seattle Seahawks
Kupp is going to get between 2-5 targets in Week 4. How do I know that? Because that is what Kupp gets every week. Gone are the days of Cooper Kupp fantasy god. But that is OK. We have Sam Darnold back in the lineup, and that lifts a few of these guys from where they were while Darnold was out. Last week, with Sam back, Kupp had 5 targets, 4 receptions, 46 yards, and a touchdown. He is a nice low-cost addition to your lineup.
- FanDuel: $5,400
- DraftKings: $4,100
Tight Ends
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Mr. Swift has over 70 yards or a touchdown in each game this season. Travis has been producing. In Week 4, the Chiefs play the Raiders. The Raiders give up the third most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. Three different tight ends have scored touchdowns against the Raiders; two of them have multiple touchdowns. It’s a good week to play Taylor’s husband- what’s his name?-in fantasy football.
- FanDuel: $5,500
- DraftKings: $5,000
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
Kittle has topped 80 yards in each of the last two games. He has also scored three touchdowns over that time period. Denver gives up the 13th most fantasy points to tight ends, but with Kittle it is more about his role than the defense. Kittle has an 18% target share and is heavily involved in the Niners’ passing game. By George, I think he’s got it!
- FanDuel: $6,700
- DraftKings: $5,100
T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
The Dolphins have given up a touchdown to a tight end in each of the last two games. Miami gives up the tenth most fantasy points to tight ends. The matchup is good. We also have Kyler Murray back in the lineup. Hockenson had a 14% target share with Murray back. Justin Jefferson is questionable and may miss this week’s game. If Jefferson is out, Hockenson (and Jordan Addison) become must-plays.
- FanDuel: $4,900
- DraftKings: $3,300
Defense
Minnesota Vikings
Every defense against the Dolphins has scored 8 or more fantasy points this season. Miami gives up the 5th most fantasy points to the DEF position. The Vikings, meanwhile, have been one of the best fantasy defenses, never scoring less than 8 points and scoring 17 fantasy points each of the past two games. They get a lot of sacks, and Miami gives up a lot of sacks. Sometimes it is an easy call.
- FanDuel: $5,000
- DraftKings: $4,000
