NFL Usage Trends from Week 10: Fantasy Football Notes for All 32 Teams

It appears that 2025 may be another year of the running back, just like last season was for fantasy football. Players like Jonathan Taylor, De’Von Achane, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Christian McCaffrey are going off every week, and many wide receivers haven’t been able to keep up. This year, there are seven running backs with more than 150 fantasy points so far. For wide receivers, there’s only one.

This weekly piece will look at those trends and make recommendations for players who might be worth rostering or starting in our fantasy lineups. We will look primarily at how roles changed over the first five games of the season for a player on each team, and if that is signal or noise this early in the year.

NFL Week 10 Usage Trends

ARIZONA CARDINALS

Trey McBride + Jacoby Brissett = BFF

Trey McBride continues his torrid pace on Sunday, catching nine of 13 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown. McBride, for one, is not going to be sad about Kyler Murray going on IR. McBride has 46 targets and five touchdowns in his last four games, mostly with Jacoby Brissett.

ATLANTA FALCONS

Red Zone Running Backs

This recent red zone trend is a concern for all the Bijan Robinson managers out there. On Sunday, Tyler Allgeier had five opportunities in the red zone to just one for Bijan Robinson. Allgeier, of course, ended up with two touchdowns on just 11 touches. Robinson keeps dominating the snaps, but hasn’t scored since Week 7.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Derrick Henry Looking Old?

For two times in the last three games, Derrick Henry has 20 or more carries with fewer than 80 rushing yards. He hasn’t scored in back-to-back weeks and Justice Hill got a one-yard-line carry and scored against Minnesota on Sunday. Is this the beginning of the end? Henry is certainly getting enough volume, but just needs to be more efficient.

BUFFALO BILLS

James Cook Disappears

James Cook III was bottled up by the Miami Dolphins all day and could only muster 53 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards. He also lost a key fumble in this game and gave way to Ty Johnson and Ray Davis in passing situations when the Bills got down big in this game. After playing 75% of snaps in Week 9, Cook was only in on 50% in Week 10.

CAROLINA PANTHERS

Rico Dowdle Takeover

Chuba Hubbard played just 21% of snaps on Sunday, his lowest rate of the season. Rico Dowdle, on the other hand, played 79%, his highest since he had a game in Week 6 where Hubbard was out with an injury. Their roles have now completely reversed from the beginning of the season as Dowdle continues to dominate.

CHICAGO BEARS

Running Back Breakdown

The talk of Kyle Monangai taking over D’Andre Swift’s role was completely overblown. Monangai played a healthy 38% of snaps, but Swift played 62% in his first game back from missing a game due to injury. That 62% was the highest number for Swift since he played 66% of snaps in Week 4.

CINCINNATI BENGALS

The Cincinnati Bengals Were on Bye For Week 10

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Quinshon Judkins Hogs the Ball

Even though he only played 52% of snaps, running back Quinshon Judkins hoarded just about all of the running back touches. Judkins had 24 total rush attempts plus receptions, while Dylan Sampson and Jerome Ford combined for four touches.

DALLAS COWBOYS

The Dallas Cowboys Were on Bye For Week 10

DENVER BRONCOS

Running Back Messy Room

There were four running backs who played more than 15% of snaps for the Broncos last Thursday night. If J.K. Dobbins ends up missing any time due to the hip-drop tackle injury he suffered, it will likely be a messy timeshare between RJ Harvey, Adam Prectice, and Tyler Badie. Harvey remains the most appealing of all of them because of his pass-catching ability.

DETROIT LIONS

Jameson Williams Doing His Thing

Jameson Williams continued to be involved more with the Detroit Lions and had six catches for 119 yards and a touchdown against Washington. Williams now has at least six targets and a touchdown in three of his last four games and appears to be back on track after a very slow start to the season.

GREEN BAY PACKERS

Tucker Kraft Fallout

In the first game post-Tucker Kraft injury, the Green Bay Packers looked lost on offense. Dontayvion Wicks (eight) and Josh Jacobs (six) led the team in targets and Jordan Love needed 36 pass attempts to get to just 176 yards in the air. No player had more than 45 receiving yards.

HOUSTON TEXANS

Woody Marks Back to RB1

Nick Chubb was out-touched by Woody Marks 16 to six and was outscored 15.1 to 5.7. Woody Marks got the goal-line touchdown and largely played well in the Houston come-from-behind victory against Jacksonville. Chubb has 11 or fewer rush attempts in four of his last five games.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Jonathan Taylor Breaks Containment

So much for being shut down last week. Jonathan Taylor wrecked the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday morning, as he knocked them out with 244 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. The last of his touchdowns was a walk-off winner in overtime. Taylor now has more than 45 fantasy points than the next running back on the list for 2025.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Wide Receiver Shuffle

The new-look wide receiver room for the Jacksonville Jaguars looked something like this against the Houston Texans: Parker Washington 87% of snaps, Tim Patrick 71%, Jakobi Meyers 44%, and Dyami Brown 37%. Of course, Trevor Lawrence threw for only one touchdown and Parker Washington snagged it.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

The Kansas City Chiefs Were on Bye For Week 10

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Ashton Jeanty Getting More Work

Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty played about 90% of the Raiders’ snaps the last two games and is becoming the featured player (finally). He saw 19 carries (every other running back combined had one). And he was second on the team with five targets.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Gadsden Goes Down

Oronde Gadsden suffered a knee injury in the second half of his game against Pittsburgh and did not return to the game. He had six targets to that point, but only 13 yards before the injury took him out for good. The Chargers have plenty of offensive weapons, so expect them to be conservative with Gadsden and not push him too hard. In his absence, rarely-used tight end Tucker Fisk played on 37% of snaps.

LOS ANGELES RAMS

Matthew Stafford’s Still Got It

Matthew Stafford continues to show that he is still beating out Father Time week after week. Stafford became the first quarterback to throw 4+ passing touchdowns while not throwing an interception for three straight regular-season games (according to the Sunday Night Football broadcast). He threw for 280 yards and four scores, good enough for his fifth game of 25+ points out of his last six.

MIAMI DOLPHINS

De’Von Achane’s Best Game

De’Von Achane had 28 touches and 225 total yards with two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills at home and finished as the best running back in the Sunday afternoon window of games. This was by far his most touches and total yards in a game this season, and these were his first rushing touchdowns since October 12.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Jalen Nailor Out of Nowhere

Jalen Nailor somehow finished with five receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown to lead all wide receivers in the Sunday afternoon window. He outpaced Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson (more on them below) and was the only reliable weapon all day for the Vikings. But as nice as the game was, Nailor didn’t have 124 yards combined in his last six contests.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

TreVeyon Takes Over

TreVeyon Henderson finally had his coming-out party, posting 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 14 rush attempts on Sunday. With Rhamondre Stevenson out and Terrell Jennings getting injured in the game, it’s safe to say Henderson will be a workhorse on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Juwan Johnson Resurrection

Juwan Johnson was left for fantasy death four weeks ago when he scored 0.5 fantasy points on October 12 against the Patriots. Since then, he has at least 10.5 fantasy points in three of four games and has scored a touchdown in his last two contests. Tyler Shough clearly trusts him, so Johnson is squarely back on the fantasy football radar.

NEW YORK GIANTS

Running Backs Swap Roles

Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary swapped spots in Week 10. While Tracy played 44% of snaps to 56% of snaps for Singletary last week, Tracy played 67% against Chicago, while Singletary only got 33%. Tracy also edged out in touches, 15 to 11.

NEW YORK JETS

Taking the Ball Out of Justin Fields’ Hand

Justin Fields just finished his fourth game out of his last seven with fewer than 18 pass attempts. It’s now completely clear that Breece Hall and the run game are going to be the centerpiece of the New York Jets offense since the trade deadline has passed. The Jets rushed the ball 31 times to just 11 pass attempts in this game, and that is exactly how they would like it to be.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Time for the A.J. Brown Squeaky Wheel

Five players on the Eagles’ offense touched the ball more than A.J. Brown on Monday night, so you probably know what’s coming. With only three targets (and one being the insane final throw by the Eagles), Brown is going to voice his concerns again this week.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Roman Road

Even though he led the Steelers with 35 receiving yards and a touchdown, Roman Wilson only played on 35% of the offensive snaps, well behind DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin III. With Aaron Rodgers’ limitations this year, Wilson is going to need a lot of snaps and volume to be fantasy-relevant.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Jauan Jennings is Back

After many weeks recovering from a litany of injuries, Jauan Jennings finally appeared to be completely back on Sunday afternoon. He was second on the team with nine targets (Christian McCaffrey had 10). He caught six passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. But most importantly, he played 92% of snaps, his most of the season to date.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

A Tale of Two Darnolds

Sam Darnold was the man of the week in Week 9, throwing four first-half touchdowns on Sunday Night Football. But even though the Seahawks trounced the Cardinals 44-22 in Week 10, Darnold was a letdown. He finished with just one passing touchdown, an interception, and two fumbles lost, leading to just under six fantasy points.

Also, new receiver Rashid Shaheed caught one ball for three yards, but fumbled.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Emeka Egbuka Back From Injury

Emeka Egbuka was back in full force against New England on Sunday. The rookie wide receiver saw 13 targets and finished with 115 yards and a touchdown. During the absence of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, Egbuka continues to show he is already one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

TENNESSEE TITANS

The Tennessee Titans Were on Bye For Week 10

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Bye Bye to Bill

Jacory Croskey-Merritt continues to disappoint, and he finished third on his own team in running back fantasy points with 3.0. He touched the ball 11 times, but those resulted in an ineffective 30 yards rushing with no receptions and no scores. Chris Rodriguez Jr. (goal line) and Jeremy McNichols (passing game) are all getting more valuable looks right now.
