Despite a slow start, the Eagles continue to win games against some of the league’s better teams. What they haven’t been able to do is give fantasy managers a day of peace. An inconsistent offense is the worst thing you can have in fantasy football. They face a Detroit Lions team that continues to excel on offense. Two NFC frontrunners go head to head on Sunday Night Football in Week 11. From trusting A.J. Brown to the Lions TE situation without Sam LaPorta, there is a lot to watch for tonight.

Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5) O/U: 46.5
Clear Starts: Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert
A.J. Brown – WR, Philadelphia Eagles
After some encouraging performances, A.J. Brown once again let fantasy managers down. Brown had his lowest target numbers since Week 1, but to his credit, it wasn’t a pass-happy day for the Eagles.
Jalen Hurts only completed 15 of 26 passes for 183 yards and a TD against the Packers. Brown was out-targeted by DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert in the contest, but he is still the clear 3rd receiving option. That alone is valuable and could be worth a lot more this week.
The Lions allow the 12th most points to opposing WRs and continue to deal with injuries in the secondary. Marcus Mariota just had his best game of the season with Treylon Burks as his leading receiver. Despite their struggles this year, Jalen Hurts is the type of player who can take advantage and keep the offense rolling. Expect more pass attempts and an easier time for Philly’s receivers to do something with the ball in their hands.
Temper expectations, but it’s hard to bench Brown in what could be a high-scoring affair. He’s a WR3 or low-end FLEX until further notice, but he should at least improve upon last week’s dreadful performance.
Jameson Williams – WR, Detroit Lions
It looks like ever since Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties, Jameson Williams has returned to form. Williams had a rough start to the season following a breakout year in 2024. His target numbers were all over the place, and he was being dropped from some fantasy rosters. Over the past two weeks, though, he has produced like a WR1/2 again.
The Eagles rank in the middle in terms of fantasy points allowed to WRs. However, they have done well to shut down or limit some receivers. Sophomore CB Quinyon Mitchell is allowing a 69.9 passer rating when targeted, and just a 46.4% completion percentage. Playing mainly on the outside, Williams could face Mitchell fairly often in this game. That’s bad news but not a death sentence.
The loss of Sam LaPorta may hurt the offense overall, but they have the talent and creativity to overcome that. We should expect some more targets to go Williams’ way. Despite a tough CB matchup, Williams will not be exclusively facing Mitchell or playing against man coverage. Jamo is a start on Monday Night Football, but high-end upside might be harder to come by.
David Montgomery – RB, Detroit Lions
If you simply look at David Montgomery’s game logs, you would think he was a low-end RB2 leading a solid backfield. Instead, he’s the RB2 on his own team and continuing to put up impressive rushing numbers considering his role. His role in your fantasy team is hard to define.
Montgomery is a rare backup that actually offers standalone value. Most fans wouldn’t be surprised to see him rush for 100+ yards and score multiple TDs in a given week. Detroit’s offense is just that good. The problem is predicting those weeks. Montgomery will naturally get more work in neutral and positive game-script but that work doesn’t always turn into fantasy points.
Without reliable receiving work, Montgomery is always going to be a risk. However, he does get a lot of work in the red zone, so his scoring opportunities are not just based on how good the Lions offense is. Montgomery ranks 15th in red zone rush attempts with 21, and he has 8 goal-line carries. The team clearly wants to use him more as they get closer to the end zone.
If you want a guy who might hover just under double-digit points most weeks, Montgomery is a fairly safe play with upside. The matchup isn’t horrible either. Fantasy managers dealing with bye weeks and injuries can play him, but hopefully, he’s your RB2 at worst.
Brock Wright – TE, Detroit Lions
With Sam LaPorta placed on IR, Brock Wright is next in line for targets at the tight end position. He could offer some value in deep leagues, but he’s a shaky start this week. The Eagles allow the 3rd fewest fantasy points to opposing TEs. Along with the Bills and Falcons, Philly has only allowed a single TD to the position.
The best things going for Wright are that there is little in the way of competition at the position, he’s on a high-powered offense that can easily drop 40+ points, and game script could be in their favor against an NFC frontrunner. The Eagles offense continues to struggle, but they may turn things up in what could be an NFC Championship preview. Wright could reach the end zone, but odds are that LaPorta’s target share gets funneled to the WRs and RBs.
