    Picks from Week 5 TNF

We went 4 for 10 on our player prop picks in Week 5. Jalon Daniels managed just half of the rushing yards we needed despite carrying the ball seven times. I said something had to give with Daniels’ interception prop, but Joey Porter Jr. being a last-minute inactive hurt our chances of seeing the Cowboys pick him off. Javonte Williams hit his receiving yardage prop but fell one catch short of his over 2.5 receptions. Jake Ferguson surprisingly missed his receiving yardage prop by seven yards, especially with the Cowboys losing CeeDee Lamb for about a third of the game. Speaking of Lamb, the Buccaneers found a way to limit his opportunities, and an injury made matters worse, preventing him from hitting his over 80.5 receiving yards and anytime touchdown props.

Let’s dive into our favorite player props for Week 6 of Thursday Night Football!

We have an exciting Thursday night clash in Denver between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. Starting with Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, he faces a difficult matchup against an elite Seattle defense that hasn’t allowed a quarterback to throw for over 200 yards in a game this season. The Seahawks play the highest rate of zone coverage in the league, which could cause problems for Nix, who has struggled against zone with a quarterback rating of just 88.0. Expect Seattle to make things difficult for Nix through the air, making under 200.5 passing yards an appealing play. I’m also taking Nix to throw over 0.5 interceptions. Seattle has recorded 7 interceptions through 5 games, forcing at least 1 pick in 4 of those contests. Nix started the season with an interception in three straight games, so turnovers haven’t been uncommon for him this year. Against an aggressive Seahawks secondary, I like his chances of making at least one mistake.

Staying with Denver, RJ Harvey disappeared in a competitive game last week, but don’t be afraid to go back to him in Week 6. Seattle has allowed the seventh-most receptions to opposing running backs this season with 26. In a game where the Broncos could be playing from behind, Harvey should have more opportunities to contribute in the passing game. He’s already shown his PPR upside with games of 4, 6, and 10 receptions, while last week’s one-catch performance was his worst of the season. Seattle has allowed opposing running backs to record at least 3 receptions in 4 of 5 games. Harvey has cleared this line in 3 of his last 4 contests, so I’m taking over 3.5 receptions.

Veteran receiver Courtland Sutton could be in for another difficult outing against a Seattle secondary allowing the second-fewest yards per route run (YPRR) this season. Sutton has struggled to produce consistently, with his highest receiving total being just 46 yards in Week 4. He’s surpassed 29.5 receiving yards only once this season, and the matchup doesn’t offer much reason for optimism. With Seattle limiting opposing passing attacks and Nix facing a difficult matchup, Sutton could struggle to find opportunities downfield. I’m taking under 29.5 receiving yards.

Moving over to Seattle, Emanuel Wilson has been solid since Jadarian Price landed on injured reserve. Over his last 2 games, Wilson has combined for 142 rushing yards on 41 carries, establishing himself as the primary option in the Seahawks’ backfield. He faces a Broncos defense that has allowed a running back to rush for at least 50 yards in every game this season. Denver has also allowed the most yards after contact, which should create opportunities for Wilson to produce on the ground. We’ve continued to see running backs thrive on Thursday Night Football, and I expect Wilson to keep that trend going with over 65.5 rushing yards. I’m also taking Wilson to score an anytime touchdown. Denver has allowed 4 rushing touchdowns to running backs this season, tied for the third-most in the league. We’ve seen a running back find the end zone in every Thursday night game this year, and Wilson has recorded 3 red-zone touches in each of his last 2 games. With Seattle expected to have scoring opportunities, Wilson should have a strong chance to keep that streak alive.

Staying in Seattle’s backfield, backup running back George Holani has an interesting matchup against a Denver defense allowing the fifth-most receptions to opposing running backs this season. Since Price went down, Holani has recorded 5, 1, and 4 receptions over his last 3 games. He should continue to operate as the primary passing-down back while Wilson handles most of the early-down and red-zone opportunities. With Denver struggling to contain running backs in the passing game, Holani should have enough opportunities to clear over 1.5 receptions.

Next up is Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who should continue his dominant season against a Broncos secondary expected to be without Patrick Surtain II once again. Denver has already allowed three opposing WR1s to finish with at least 70 receiving yards, including two who surpassed 95 yards, even with Surtain on the field. Smith-Njigba has been nearly unstoppable this season, averaging 116 receiving yards per game. With Denver missing its top cornerback, I expect Seattle to continue feeding its star receiver. Give me Smith-Njigba to finish with over 90.5 receiving yards.

Another Seattle receiver worth targeting is Cooper Kupp, who has been relatively quiet for most of the season but has consistently found ways to contribute. Kupp has recorded at least 2 receptions in 4 of 5 games this year. He’ll face slot cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian, who has struggled against receivers like Rashee Rice, Parker Washington, and Deebo Samuel. In what should be a competitive game, Kupp should have enough opportunities to make an impact underneath. I’m taking over 2.5 receptions against Denver.

My final player prop for Week 6 is AJ Barner to score an anytime touchdown. This is a favorable matchup for the Seahawks tight end, as Denver has allowed a touchdown to an opposing tight end in three straight games. Barner has shown flashes of being a legitimate red-zone threat, recording at least one red-zone touch in 3 of 5 games this season, including 4 in Week 3. With much of Denver’s defensive attention likely focused on Smith-Njigba, Barner could find an opportunity to slip behind the defense near the goal line. I like his chances of finding the end zone on Thursday night.

My Preferred Parlay for This Matchup (+3000)

    • Emanuel Wilson — Over 65.5 Rushing Yards
    • Jaxson Smith-Njigba — Over 90.5 Receiving Yards
    • Emanuel Wilson — Anytime Touchdown
    • RJ Harvey — Over 3.5 Receptions
    • Bo Nix — Under 200.5 Passing Yards
