It’s time for an AFC East matchup between the Super Bowl hopeful Buffalo Bills and the floundering Miami Dolphins. It’s our first lopsided prime time game of the season, and fantasy managers are hoping that their players can finish the night with a solid score, even if the game may not be exciting.

Thursday Night Preview: Dolphins vs. Bills
Players That are in Your Lineup
Miami Dolphins
De’Von Achane (RB)
Yeah, it’s rough out there for the Dolphins. De’Von Achane is the only reliable option through two weeks, and it doesn’t feel like that will change this week. Achane has been every bit as good a fantasy asset as you could hope for in a second-round pick. It’s just unfortunate you have to watch this circus if you want to follow Achane’s games.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen (QB), James Cook (WR), Keon Coleman (WR)
Josh Allen is permanently locked into your lineup, and there really isn’t much more to that. The same goes with James Cook. Both of these players are sitting comfortably inside the top five at their position. The other option, I think you can start with confidence, is Keon Coleman. Yes, he only had three targets last week. We can thank the Herculean effort of Cook in the ground game. Coleman should have a bounce-back game against a soft Dolphins defense.
Fringe Playable Players
Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami
What a strange turn of events from the former overall WR1. In 2024, Hill struggled to get back to form and became one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy last year. His downward trend continued again in Week 1, where he had just four catches for 40 yards. He bounced back against the Patriots and could be a key piece for the Dolphins’ potential upset. It’s just tough to trust Tua Tagovailoa against any competent defense.
Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo
The tight end position is rough to start the fantasy year. If you missed out on some of the top guys, you’re probably stuck trying to stream the position every week. This week, if you need an option, Dalton Kincaid is someone you could lean on for an “ok” floor. He’s had four catches in the past two games on 10 total targets.

Players to Leave On Your Bench
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami
Remember that small window of time where Tua Tagovailoa was one of the most valuable fantasy QBs? That feels like forever ago. These days, Tagovailoa’s purpose is to throw the ball to De’Von Achane. Tagovailoa has been incredibly inconsistent and inaccurate to kick off the year, and this game against the Bills doesn’t seem like the “get-right game” he needs to return to fantasy relevance.
The Rest of the Buffalo Bills Receiving Options
Josh Palmer, Elijah Moore, Dawson Knox, and Khalil Shakir – all of these players can stay on your bench or the waiver wire this week. They are far too unpredictable for you to fire up on a Thursday night game. Only in the deepest of leagues should you gamble on these guys to catch a Josh Allen touchdown.
