This week, the PGA tour heads to Michigan and the Detroit Golf Club in the north of the city. Having started in 2019, Detroit will be hosting for the seventh time. The Rocket Classic will have a strong field, including last week’s winner Keegan Bradley, who will be one of the early favorites, after a stellar finish at the Travellers, beating Tommy Fleetwood by one shot following his sublime approach shot on the 18th.
A Par 72 at 7320 yards long, the Donald Ross designed course will be a challenging test for the players, which includes Cam Davis, who is defending the title he picked up last year. Davis has won it twice in the last four years, and although he’s not in the greatest of form, it will be difficult not to back him for a top 10 finish at least, considering his recent record at this event.

Top Picks for the 2025 Rocket Classic Preview
Colin Morikawa (+1200)
Morikawa will be the highest-ranked player at the tournament and has yet to win this year. You have to go back to the Zozo Championship in 2023 for his last win. Worth backing? I think so, with three top 10s and two runners-up this year, he’s due for a win soon.
Ben Griffin (+2200)
Already having won twice this year, the last being the Charles Schwab Classic in May, Griffin will no doubt be high on the leaderboard. The 29-year-old from Chapel Hill, NC has only missed four cuts out of a possible 21 and has eight top-10 finishes.
Patrick Cantlay (+1600)
Cantlay is my third pick for a win. All four rounds at the Travellers were sub-70 last week, and like Colin Morikawa, he is due a win soon. Cantlay is just outside the top 10 in strokes gained but third in greens in regulation behind Sepp Straka and Steven Fisk.
Hot pick: Harry Hall
My hot pick this week is Harry Hall. The Englishman, from Camborne, has been consistent of late, only missing three cuts out of a possible 18 events on the PGA tour. He is leading the stats in putting with an average of 27.59 putts per round and is second in strokes gained, behind Sam Burns.
