Waiver Wire Winners for Fantasy Football – Week 3

Being active in your league can definitely give you an edge in Fantasy Football and propel you towards winning a championship. This can be through trading or through utilizing the waiver wire. Every single year, there are some gems found on waivers that end up having huge Fantasy Football impacts. If you think you win or lose your Fantasy Football league in your league’s draft, you are wrong.

We need to be aggressive with the waiver wire early, because at the beginning of the season, you are competing with your entire league, but as the year rolls on there are drops in activity due to people not having competing teams. Injuries, BYE weeks, role changes, and a lack of production can mean finding replacements as well via the waiver wire. So heading into Week 3, here are my top waiver wire targets generally rostered in under 55% of Fantrax leagues.

Waiver Wire Winners for Fantasy Football – Week 3

Wan’Dale Robinson (Giants WR)

This is the second “Waiver Wire Winners” article in a row to feature Wan’Dale Robinson, who was a top-10 targeted wide receiver last season. Through two games, Wan’Dale has been targeted 18 total times with 14 catches, and games of 55 then 142 receiving yards (and a touchdown). 28.2 Fantasy Points in Week 2 proved that Robinson is not just a low upside FLEX, but a guy who can truly be a Fantasy Football impact this season. I have always been a fan of the slot wide receiver’s talent, and his role is extremely consistent as the WR2 behind Malik Nabers.

Juwan Johnson (Saints TE)

Is Juwan Johnson the 2025 version of 2024 Jonnu Smith? The sleeper tight end of the season? We have seen Johnson pop up in relevance through time, but extremely inconsistently. 15.6 then 15.9 Fantasy point weeks in back-to-back games look like consistent upside to me. 20 targets, 13 catches, 76 then 49 receiving yards, and a touchdown in Week 2 have been encouraging. Sold volume and production are attached to the new starter, Spencer Rattler.

Daniel Jones (Colts QB)

After beating out Anthony Richardson for the starting quarterback job for the Colts, Daniel Jones has been thriving in Indy. In Week 1, Jones went 22/29 (75.9%) for 272 yards, a touchdown, rushed for 26 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns for 29.5 Fantasy Points. Then in Week 2, Jones threw 23/34 (67.6%) for 316 yards and a touchdown, and he rushed for another touchdown, which was 22.8 Fantasy Points. Geno Smith, then Baker Mayfield, then Sam Darnold, and now Daniel Jones have thrived with their second chances in new homes.

Troy Franklin (Broncos WR)

Four catches on six targets for 44 yards in Week 1 for Troy Franklin foreshadowed good things to follow. In Week 2, Franklin caught eight of his nine targets for 89 yards and a touchdown, and even rushed for 11 yards on a carry. He ended up with 24 Fantasy Points. Franklin outperformed Courtland Sutton in Week 2 and truly looks like he has earned the WR2 role for the season. Do not sleep on the fact that Troy Franklin totaled 2,274 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns through two Oregon seasons together, prior to becoming Denver teammates.

Cedric Tillman (Browns WR)

Cedric Tillman has finished the last two weeks with a receiving touchdown, which has lifted him to double-digit Fantasy scores in both games. In Week 1, Tillman brought in five of his eight targets for 52 yards and a score, then Tillman caught just two of his seven targets for 22 yards in Week 2. 15 targets across the last two weeks is an encouraging sign. Especially with those flashes of upside we saw last season for Tillman.

Bhayshul Tuten (Jaguars RB)

Following the Tank Bigsby trade to the Eagles after Week 1, rookie Bhayshul Tuten saw a jump from 6% to 25% of the snaps with increased work. Tuten rushed eight times for 42 yards (5.25 yards per carry) and caught two passes for 32 yards and a touchdown for 15.4 Fantasy Points. His 10 touches are encouraging, and although I believe Travis Etienne Jr. hangs onto the lead job, it is important to have running backs rostered who can have stand-alone value or at least be high upside handcuffs.

Kayshon Boutte (Patriots WR)

After having a hot finish to 2024, Kayshon Boutte opened up 2025 catching six of his eight targets for 103 yards, which was 16.3 Fantasy Points. Then in Week 2, Boutte’s lone catch was a 16-yard touchdown, which was 8.6 Fantasy Points. The lack of targets (only one) in Week 2 was a bit concerning, but Boutte has proven both weeks to be an impact for the Patriots, and they should reward him with his production as the season moves on.

Hunter Renfrow (Panthers WR)

The Panthers signed Hunter Renfrow to a one-year contract this offseason, released him, then re-signed him before the season. Renfrow opened up the season by earning six targets, but caught just two of them for 11 yards. Then in Week 2, Renfrow earned nine targets and caught seven of them for 48 yards and two touchdowns, which was 23.8 Fantasy Points. While the yardage has seemed pretty limited and low-upside, the WR2 role feels locked in as a dependable outlet for Bryce Young.

Elic Ayomanor (Titans WR)

Rookie Elic Ayomanor earned seven targets from rookie Cam Ward in Week 1, but caught just two of those for 13 yards. Then in Week 2, Ayomanor caught four of his six targets for 56 yards and a touchdown for 15.6 Fantasy Points. The jump in production was encouraging, and Ayomanor has carved out an important role in this Titans offense, which is evident by his weekly targets.

Zach Ertz (Commanders TE)

Across the full 2024 season, Zach Ertz finished as the TE7 in total Fantasy Points. Then heading into 2025, Ertz was faded again in Fantasy drafts, likely due to age and adding Deebo Samuel. Week 1, Ertz caught three of his five targets for 26 yards and a touchdown for 11.6 Fantasy Points. Then in Week 2, Ertz caught six of his eight targets for 64 yards and another touchdown, which was 18.4 Fantasy Points. Ertz plays an important role in this Washington offense, has touchdown upside, and the team just lost a playmaker in Austin Ekeler via Achilles tear.

Rachaad White (Buccaneers RB)

Week 2, Rachaad White rushed 10 times for 65 yards (6.5 yards per carry) and a touchdown, with two catches that meant 14.5 Fantasy Points. Obviously, White has upside as a handcuff to Bucky Irving as a guy who averaged 15.8 Fantasy PPG as the lead back in 2023, but do not forget just last season. White averaged 12.5 Fantasy PPG (#23) WITH Bucky in 2024, so there is a role to be had.

Tyler Allgeier (Falcons RB)

In Week 1, Tyler Allgeier rushed 10 times for 24 yards. Then in Week 2, Allgeier rushed 16 times for 76 yards and a touchdown, and caught a four-yard pass for 15 Fantasy Points. You can tie the Week 2 production to garbage time, but Allgeier is receiving meaningful touches. Minimum, this is the Bijan Robinson handcuff worth rostering as a guy who rushed for 1,035 yards and averaged 10 Fantasy Points as a rookie back in 2022.

Romeo Doubs (Packers WR)

Romeo Doubs opened up 2025 catching just two of four targets, but for 68 yards. Then in Week 2, Doubs caught three of five targets for 28 yards and a touchdown for 11.8 Fantasy Points. Doubs has proven both weeks to be productive on limited volume. Jayden Reed will miss six to eight weeks of football due to a fractured collarbone that will require surgery, which could mean a bump in the Doubs targets. Especially with rookie Matthew Golden not doing much.
