It’s a blank slate. Week 1 of the NFL season always offers up endless opportunities. As we begin our journey together, it’s time to see if what we thought would happen actually does take place now. As the season progresses, we’ll have data to back up our hypothesis. However, that’s not going to stop us from putting our best foot forward with Week 1 NFL Player Props utilizing FanDuel Sportsbook.
What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.
Week 1 NFL Player Props (FanDuel Sportsbook)
Trevor Lawrence Over 239.5 Passing Yards (-114)
If we are going to base this on last season, then Trevor Lawrence’s yardage number looks downright unattainable. I mean, in 10 games, Lawrence eclipsed this mark only twice last year. However, in both of those games, Lawrence actually broke the 300-yard mark.
Taking a step back, though, 2024 was just a mess for Lawrence. Previously, Lawrence had two consecutive seasons of more than 4,000 passing yards, so we know he’s capable. Brian Thomas is looking to build on a strong rookie season, and Lawrence now has the benefit of Travis Hunter. However, the bigger storyline, besides Lawrence’s clean bill of health, is who is now on the sidelines for Jacksonville.
Their new head coach, Liam Coen, has a reputation that precedes him. Coen built an impressive resume with the Rams before helping to truly turn around Baker Mayfield’s career. Lawrence is the next task for Coen, and a home matchup against the Carolina Panthers is a fine place to start. Last season, the Panthers’ passing defense was below average, and this is a very manageable number for Lawrence to hit.
TreVeyon Henderson Over 38.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Talk about an impressive preseason. Granted, the loudest part of TreVeyon Henderson’s performance came on a kickoff return for a touchdown, but it speaks to his speed and explosiveness. While he played behind and is still listed behind Rhamondre Stevenson, it likely won’t stay that way for long.
After a 4.43 time in the 40-yard dash, there’s no questioning Henderson’s speed and explosiveness. That’s especially true after he led the Big Ten in yards per carry twice in his college career.
The expectation is that he’s not going to end the year behind Stevenson on the depth chart. In fact, it might only be a matter of a few weeks. Regardless, Henderson should have a clear role with the Patriots. In fact, it shouldn’t take many carries for the rookie to hit his yardage prop.
Kyle Pitts Over 38.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Yes, I’m going to do this again. I know that Kyle Pitts has yet to replicate his rookie season, and he only finished with 602 receiving yards last year. At the same time, we know that the talent and upside are there. The question is how much we believe in Pitts to capture that and build on the chemistry he’s established with Michael Penix.
Pitts came close to hitting this mark about half the time last season, so that at worst, puts it at a coin flip. Obviously, we want something more of a sure thing, and with the connection between Pitts and Penix, that appears to be the case. The fact that Darnell Mooney is dealing with a shoulder injury also means that Pitts is essentially serving as Atlanta’s number two receiver.
