Week 1 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

The wait is over; Week 1 starts now, and with the drafts done, the real question is: who do I start? Lucky for you, I’m bringing you my Week 1 sleepers and streamers for wide receivers. This is one of the toughest weeks to determine which wide receivers will thrive in their offense. However, some of these sleepers should be on your rosters and will give you confidence to start them this week. As for the streamers, if you went heavy on RBs in the draft, then these receivers will fill the void in your two or three position slots.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune this season.

Week 1 Wide Receiver Sleepers

Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars (Vs. Cleveland Browns)

Parker Washington won some leagues last year with his elite performance from Weeks 16-18. He put up two touchdowns and 347 yards on 19 receptions. If he can start the season where he left off, then Washington is a sneaky sleeper start this week in your flex or WR2 spot. It’s hard to tell if he is the WR1 with Brian Thomas Jr. healthy. But some good news for Washington is that, per Ian Rapoport, Hunter is to be a full-time corner back and part-time wide receiver. This lightens the competition between Thomas and Jakobi Meyers. Based on the competition, I can see Washington popping off against the Browns. It is likely Denzel Ward will be on Thomas, leaving Washington against Tyson Campbell or Mekhi Blackmon.

Carnell Tate, Tennessee Titans (Vs. New York Jets)

The rookie Carnell Tate is set to be the WR1 for the Titans. I would have thought Calvin Ridley would be the guy in Tennessee, but based on last season, Ridley was dropped to the WR3, and newly acquired Wan’Dale Robinson will be the WR2. It is a bit risky to start a rookie wide receiver, but the fact that he is going against the Jets should be enough to start Tate as a flex or WR2 option. A lot of this is also based on Cam Ward taking a step forward in his second year. But fantasy is all about gambling, and Tate has great odds this week going against the Jets.

Chris Godwin Jr., Tampa Bay Buccaneers (At Cincinnati Bengals)

I believe this will be the bounce-back year for Chris Godwin Jr. He showed glimpses of it toward the end of last season. But most of the season, he was coming back from his ankle injury in 2024, and then also had a fibula injury in Week 5 of last season. But he ended up finishing the season strong, and now Mike Evans is gone. And we all saw what happened to Emeka Egbuka after Week 5 of last season. The targets are up for grabs, and Godwin is a sneaky sleeper this week against the Bengals. The Bengals defense was horrendous last year, but they did add some new talent this year, but I expect it to take a few weeks for them to get it together.

Week 1 Wide Receiver Streamers

Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles (Vs. Washington Commanders)

This pick is all upside. Makai Lemon probably went undrafted in most leagues based on bench size and league size. However, if he did go undrafted, this is a good week to stream him, as he could be a top commodity after Week 1. He is set to be the WR2 behind DeVonta Smith, but also has to compete with Dallas Goedert. But Lemon has great odds this week going against the Commanders. The Commanders were terrible at defending the pass last year, giving up 29.4 points per game to wide receivers. The downside of Lemon is Jalen Hurts. This is a run-heavy offense, and Smith is an elite playmaker, so it all depends on the targets Lemon could get.

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders (Vs. Miami Dolphins)

The Raiders are a dumpster fire with wide receivers. Brock Bowers is the clear number one target, and given Ashton Jeanty is healthy to start Week 1, he will be the clear second option. However, this game should be a fantasy game dream. Both defenses are terrible, and both offenses need work as well. The good thing for the Raiders is Kirk Cousins is starting Week 1, so his veteran presence could help spread the ball around. If you are to stream Tucker this year, this is the week to do it.

Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers (Vs. Chicago Bears)

I love Jalen Coker this year, and I’m high on the Panthers as a fantasy team. Bryce Young is growing into a great quarterback, and this Panthers team is great for fantasy. This is a tough matchup against the Bears, but the Bears secondary actually gave up the third most points per game to wide receivers last season. All eyes will be on Tetairoa McMillan, and that can leave Coker out in the open. From Weeks 13-18, Coker did put up three touchdowns and was challenging McMillan in those weeks. Coker can play, and I expect this Panthers offense to leap forward.
