Dynasty trade season is coming to a close for most, as Week 14 of the NFL season starts tonight. We have already discussed trade deadlines, but if you do not have them, now is a prime time to upgrade your dynasty rosters. Some teams are still eyeing fringe playoff spots, and contenders are analyzing potential trade targets with easy playoff schedules. No matter your team’s current state, there is an excellent opportunity to improve as the season draws to a close. And there is one player every dynasty manager should be trying to play for. Considering he could be playing for a different team next year and, at the least, should get better quarterback play.

NFL Dynasty Trade Targets for Week 14
Trade for Justin Jefferson
The man who has been untouchable for so many years in dynasty leagues. Jefferson has been a coveted dynasty asset since his rookie season in 2020. Things might have changed a tad, with J.J. McCarthy at the helm. Jefferson is going to make it above 1,000 yards barely, something he routinely has done, even in 2022 when he had his season cut to ten games because of injury. And people have a right to be panicked as the Vikings invested a top pick in McCarthy and might want to give him another look in 2026. So, how does this situation improve for Jefferson? There are three options.
McCarthy takes a step forward in his second season as a starter. That outcome seems highly unlikely, given what we have seen this year. The second option is that they add a veteran in free agency or via trade. A Daniel Jones reunion is not in the cards, but if Joe Flacco or Marcus Mariota wants to play for the team, the Vikings could bring in one of them. Could Kyler Murray get a second chance in Minnesota, because that is the best option from a trade standpoint? I see Mac Jones as unattainable unless Minnesota trades some serious draft capital. However, if he is available, the Vikings should make an offer.
The third option is the team trading Jefferson. Adam Schefter recently refuted these claims, but it is a long offseason, and you never know. A trade to the New England Patriots would skyrocket Jefferson’s value and be the best-case scenario. However, likely 31 teams should be calling if Jefferson is available. There are some exceptions on that list, but they should all at least inquire. Almost every situation is better than what he currently has.
Dynasty Value
Whether he gets traded or not, Jefferson is a premier dynasty asset. Three first-round picks have been the start of dynasty trade discussions. And usually, that hasn’t been enough when trying to trade for him. With the current frustrations and everything surrounding the team. It should not be out of the question that dynasty managers can acquire him in a trade for two first-round picks and a decent quality player. That player would likely be in the Zay Flowers tier of value. I would kick the tires on a trade like that. Considering you would be getting Jefferson for his seasons at age 27, 28, and 29. That is at least three more years of quality play, and I believe Jefferson can continue that level of play for longer. Jefferson is a dynasty trade target for both contenders and rebuilders.
It has been a disaster, but in the next four weeks, they have the Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and the Detroit Lions left on the schedule. That is an ideal schedule to get things right, so he is in play for both builds.
Trade for A.D. Mitchell
This trade target may be a tad late; however, some people do not believe the breakout is real. A.D Mitchell’s breakout was very real against the Atlanta Falcons. Mitchell was a player who desperately needed a change of scenery, especially after that touchdown he dropped before crossing the goal line. He got that with a trade to the New York Jets, and he has flashed his talent before; now it is coming to fruition. Without Garrett Wilson, A.D. Mitchell has come into his own. This past weekend, he saw 12 targets, catching eight of them for 102 yards and a touchdown. After these recent weeks, Mitchell now seems to factor into the Jets’ long-term plans. Coach Aaron Glenn’s comments really emphasized that. And Glenn did nothing but praise Mitchell, saying he is a true X receiver and the player they wanted.
In a dynasty, I would trade a mid-second-round pick for Mitchell. He will take a back seat to Garrett Wilson when he returns from injury, but he has proved that he could potentially factor in as the second option for their incoming rookie quarterback in 2026 or 2027. I am buying the hype on Mitchell and believe the breakout is real. If I have to give more than that, I would be okay doing so. Young wide receivers with Mitchell’s potential and physical traits usually net more in dynasty trades, but that rookie year with the Colts set his value back a fair bit. However, we have to evaluate who he is now, and not who he was with the Indianapolis Colts. Mitchell’s development in his first few weeks with the Jets has greatly impressed me, and he can become a complete receiver with the right quarterback.

Final Thoughts
The dynasty trade market is ever-changing. And league economies could never be more different. However, it is essential to evaluate your situation and make decisions based on that. We have a long offseason ahead, and my opinion is not to be afraid to take chances. Receivers like A.D Mitchell and Dontavion Wicks, who have flashed upside in the past, are the kind of players to look for. Xavier Worthy could qualify for that this offseason, as could Brian Thomas Jr. Those two are more on the high end. Jayden Reed or Jalen McMillan, who have missed time due to injury, could also make the list. I would also like to mention Tre Harris, given Keenan Allen’s potential retirement. Either way, there are plenty of dynasty trades that managers can make this offseason. I will try to update throughout the off-season, but those players will be my early targets. Justin Jefferson is the most urgent on the list, and Tre Harris is my second-preferred option given his value. There are some great dynasty values to be had in trade, even though managers are sharper than ever. It will be an interesting off-season, nonetheless, with this upcoming draft class and free agency. And that is part of the reason why the game we play is so much fun.
