Week 2 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

Man, what a great way to start the fantasy football season. The Bears casually dropped 59 points, Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdowns, and Tyler Shough turned into Brett Favre, throwing 56 passes for 410 yards. Given all that, we can nail down what wide receivers are sleepers and streams for Week 2.

Week 1 Wide Receiver Sleepers

Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers (At Atlanta Falcons)

I know I put Jalen Coker as a streamer last week and am high on him, but I had no idea he would be the WR1 last week. I hope you listened and started him last week. Coker needs to be picked up in all leagues, but I do have him as a sleeper this week. He has a tough matchup going against the Falcons secondary this week. But you have to run with the hot hand. Coker had nine targets last week while WR1 Tetairoa McMillan had eight. Coker just had the bigger deep plays. However, I do not think this was a fluke game, as I said before, Coker ended the last five weeks of the 2025 season with three touchdowns. He looks to be starting where he left off.

Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers (Vs. Las Vegas Raiders)

The Chargers had one of the biggest upsets last week, losing to the Cardinals. Justin Herbert looked terrible, and Quentin Johnston only had 17 yards. So why would I have him as a sleeper pick this week? Ladd McConkey went down in the third quarter of this game with a rib injury and is considered day-to-day. If McConkey plays, he won’t be 100 percent, as that rib shot he took was brutal. That leaves Johnston as the WR1 going against a mediocre Raiders secondary. The Raiders’ bright spot is their pass rush, but their secondary is questionable. Johnston scored a touchdown in each of the games he played the Raiders last season. I’d capitalize on him, especially if McConkey is out.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders (At Dallas Cowboys)

It was Stefon Diggs who looked better than Terry McLaurin, but they did play the Eagles defense. McLaurin had Quinyon Mitchell and Riq Woolen on him all game, which is a tough matchup. People might be higher on Diggs since he scored a touchdown, but I expect McLaurin to go off against this Cowboys defense this week. The Cowboys just gave up three passing touchdowns to Jaxson Dart. This game should be a shootout, and I would ride high on McLaurin to bounce back this week.

Week 2 Wide Receiver Streamers

Devaughn Vele, New Orleans Saints (At Baltimore Ravens)

Devaugh Vele could have benefited from Shough having to throw 56 times in an overtime loss. But Vele looked great out there competing with Chris Olave for targets. Olave drew a lot of attention, and Vele capitalized on getting open. This matchup is a tough one, but the Saints have no run game as of now, and I can expect Shough to average 40 passes a game. That means Vele will get targets. Also, he is a great stream option for the rest of the year, as Olave has a scare late in the game, landing on his back that sent him out for a few plays. If Olave is to get hurt during the season, Vele is going to be a high-end fantasy WR2.

Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers (At New York Jets)

You might get lucky to see Matthew Golden on your waiver wire, but if he is, you need to stream him this week. He has a great matchup against the Jets and is in an offense with no run game whatsoever. MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks combined for 66 rushing yards. Jordan Love had to throw for 353 yards to keep them in the game before the Packers defense blew it in the 4th. In this game, Golden has 12 targets and reeled in six for 95 yards. All he was missing was a touchdown. The Packers do have a great trio of receivers, but with the volume that Love is throwing, they can all eat in this offense.

Deebo Samuel Sr., San Francisco 49ers (Vs. Miami Dolphins)

Deebo Samuel Sr. had a sneaky solid performance last week against the Rams. He brought in six receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown. Brock Purdy looked like Prime Aaron Rodgers dicing up the Rams defense last week. And this week he has the Dolphins in what should be a blowout win. The good thing that jumps Samuel up this week is the ankle injury to De’Zhaun Stribling that will sideline him for at least a month. Though it was Demarcus Robinson who snagged the 39-yard touchdown in this game, he can also be a stream option this week if you are looking for those deep ball plays.
