The Week 4 EPL waiver wire comes as the transfer window has finally closed, and EPL rosters are set. Now Fantrax managers can more freely use the waiver wire, as there’s no need to hold a spot waiting for a big transfer. It’s early in the season, and options are plentiful still. These are key weeks to grab players for both a weekly option and someone who could fill a place on your roster for the long term.
Week 3 suggestion: Anan Khalaili had yet another solid fantasy output, despite conceding two goals in a 3-2 win for Crystal Palace. He’s looking more and more like a regular option. Abdul Fatawu had his third straight double-digit output for Ipswich, and he’s showing that he should be rostered across leagues. Malick Yalcouye didn’t score but did go the full 90 minutes and had 6.5 fantasy points. Konstantinos Tzolakis has yet to concede in the EPL for Hull. It’s quite stunning for the keeper and his newly promoted Hull defense. Bradley Barcola got over 20 minutes in his first appearance for Liverpool after the big transfer. All these players are good options moving forward.
Week 4 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire
Week 4 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Tyrique George – Forward-Â 40% Rostered – Spurs vs Everton
George scored a late wonder goal to earn a 2-2 draw for Everton against Manchester United. It was his first goal of the season, but it doesn’t look like it will be his last. He’s taken eight shots already this season, so he isn’t afraid to let things fly. He has no fear in taking on defenders, plus he’s notched six key passes. George looks to be a focal point of the Everton attack. Everton travel to Spurs, who have yet to win and have conceded five goals thus far.
James McAtee – Midfielder-Â 34% Rostered – Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa
McAtee is finally getting some playing time at Forest, after a transfer from Manchester City last season. He’s started each of the opening three games and made the most of it. The midfielder recorded nine key passes so far and two double-digit point games. He’s taking corners and set pieces. He let off three shots last game, including one on target. Set piece takers are highly valued in many leagues and become less available on the EPL waiver wire as the season goes. If he can remain consistent, there is real value here, especially with good matchups. They host Aston Villa who remain winless.
Jorrel Hato – Defender – 30% Rostered – Chelsea vs Hull
Hato has found a place in the new Chelsea manager’s lineup, with starts in three straight. Chelsea have conceded at least two goals in each of the opening three, but it would be surprising if that doesn’t change for the better. Hato, though, has two assists already this season. While managers can’t expect that weekly, it’s a good sign that it he getting forward as part of the attack. Opponents Hull have yet to lose, but also have scored only three times and were shut out last game.
Ryan Giles – Defender – 26% Rostered – Chelsea vs Hull
Giles is another Hull defender that Fantrax managers should be watching on the EPL waiver wire. Besides the three straight clean sheets, Giles is an attacking threat for Hull. He has four key passes and is winning corners. His first assist is surely coming soon. His additional defensive stats make him a player to keep in the roster and probably the starting 11. He’s averaging over 13.5 Fantrax points a game. Hull face a serious test as they travel to Chelsea. Giles and Hull defenders remain good options moving forward.
Some EPL teams have games in Europe midweek, so always check team news. Have fun. Good luck.
