We are just about a quarter of the way through the season, and fantasy football managers are finally seeing the complete picture of the NFL. Running back committees and wide receiver rooms are figuring themselves out. Rookies are getting their footing in their respective roles. We are also figuring out how to optimize our rosters for future success. It’s time to look at some dynasty football risers and fallers before we get into Week 5.

Dynasty Risers and Fallers Heading into Week 5
Key Risers
Sam Darnold, QB, Seattle Seahawks
Week 4 Stats: 14/18, 218 Yards, 2 TDs
I still can’t believe the turnaround Sam Darnold has had the past two years. For superflex leagues, Sam Darnold might be a great buy for managers looking for consistency at the position. Darnold has proven to be a much more competent and confident quarterback since pairing up with Kevin O’Connell. It’s not exciting, but he is a player who could crack your lineup every week.
Jordan Mason, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Week 4 Stats: 16 Carries, 57 Yards, 3 Receptions, 15 Yards
Aaron Jones is out of the way, opening the door for Jordan Mason to take complete control of the Vikings’ run game. In his first foray as the main back, Mason ran circles around the hapless Bengals defense. His second stint against the Steelers was not as exciting, but it’s clear he’s still the main runner in that backfield. And as we know in dynasty, we are always in need of starting RBs with upside.
Woody Marks, RB, Houston Texans
Week 4 Stats: 17 Carries, 69 Yards, 1 TD, 4 Receptions, 50 Yards, 1 TD
Woody Marks was a player that I didn’t see becoming relevant in his rookie season because his landing spot wasn’t ideal. But life comes at you fast, and suddenly the fourth-round draft pick has become the lead back in Houston. Marks showcased his dual-threat ability as a runner and a pass-catcher against the hapless Titans. Dynasty managers who scooped up Marks in the 3rd or 4th round of Rookie Drafts are sure to be excited about their sudden stud running back.
Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Week 4 Stats: 8 Receptions, 98 Yards, 1 TD
So I guess he’s the real deal now, huh?
Quentin Johnston has overcome his egregious drops to become one of Justin Herbert’s top targets. He’s developed into a dangerous deep-threat that gives your fantasy roster a huge “boom” element. If you were bold enough to buy the dip, enjoy the massive spike in value.
Key Fallers
Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Week 4 Stats: 10 Carries, 45 Yards, 1 Reception, 3 Yards
The Kansas City Chiefs’ running back room is a mess. Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt have been very, very inefficient this year, but they don’t have many other options. Pacheco just hasn’t been the same runner since his injury. It doesn’t help that the KC offense is still finding its footing, either.
D.J. Moore, WR, Chicago Bears
Week 4 Stats: 4 Receptions, 38 Yards
The torch has been passed in the Chicago Bears’ wide receiver room. Rome Odunze looks to be the clear number one option on this team, and D.J. Moore is taking a back seat. Moore is sure to have some solid games down the line, but currently, he’s struggling to be the fantasy contributor we want him to be.

Try to Buy These Players
C.J. Stroud, QB, Houston Texans
Week 4 Stats: 22/28, 233 Yards, 2 TD, 4 Carries, 11 Yards
Despite his early-season struggles, Stroud is looking like an interesting “buy” option. He’s slowly improved his game each week. We didn’t notice because we are so blinded by the poor offensive line play and the 1-3 record. Stroud has a good matchup against the Ravens this week, making his “buy” window very small. If you’re a team that needs a second QB, go make a call to the Stroud owner.
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 4 Stats: 2 Receptions, 55 Yards
Another disappointing outing for Brian Thomas Jr. means another opportunity to buy a young, talented wide receiver. BTJ has 32 targets through four weeks, and it just hasn’t converted to points yet. However, this type of involvement should not be ignored. We’ve seen BTJ be great before, and that player is still there. Don’t miss your chance to bolster your roster for cheap.
