2026 Fantasy Football: Week 9 D/ST Streamers

Last week, all three of my streamers were solid. That included the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who continued their dominance as the D/ST2 on the week. While bye weeks continue to limit options, there are still D/STs to consider streaming in Week 9.

Week 8 Results

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 23 Points (2nd-Ranked D/ST)
  • Detroit Lions: 10 Points (11th)
  • Cincinnati Bengals: 8 Points (15th)

Week 9 D/ST Streamers

All D/STs are rostered in under 50% of Fantrax leagues

Buffalo Bills (at Minnesota Vikings)

Fantrax Rostership: 39% (Other platforms: 6% – 10%)

Kyler Murray has had some great matchups recently. The Vikings faced the Dolphins, Saints, Colts, and Lions in their last four games. Those are all below-average pass defenses by DVOA and EPA/play. In that span, the Vikings have only scored more than 16 points once – a 23-point game against the Saints. While Murray has been good at not turning the ball over, the Vikings still allow the ninth most fantasy points to D/STs this season. Murray has only taken 15 sacks, but he has taken one on 8.88% of his dropbacks, sixth amongst QBs according to Pro Football Reference. Although Minnesota’s defense looks like it can thwart just about any offense, they may be forced into more passing situations this week.

The Buffalo Bills come to town fresh off a 36-10 win against the Ravens sans Lamar Jackson. Buffalo ranks third in offensive DVOA, and Josh Allen looks like the MVP frontrunner. This offense could give the Vikings their biggest test of the season. Should Josh Allen find success early, we could see Kyler Murray forced into situations where he could make mistakes and give the Bills D/ST some fantasy points. Much like the Lions last week against the Vikings, the Bills do not boast a strong defense this year. Despite that, they have been able to produce fantasy value against their weaker offensive opponents. Last week, with Tyler Huntley and Joe Fagnano at QB, the Bills D/ST scored 20 points. While they may not have that same upside in Week 9, the Bills D/ST is still worth streaming.

New Orleans Saints (vs. Cleveland Browns)

Fantrax Rostership: 25% (Other platforms: 2% – 5%)

After a solid start to 2026, Deshaun Watson and the Browns offense have fallen apart. While the Browns are 5-3, they have failed to score more than 13 points in three of their last four games. The lone exception was a shootout win against the lowly Titans. Watson’s stats are still decent, averaging 225.8 passing yards per game while throwing seven TDs to just three interceptions. However, Watson is being sacked a league-high 33 times. This is not a situation where Watson takes a ton of sacks because he drops back so much; he is being sacked on 11.7% of his dropbacks, the highest in the league. Because of that, and Cleveland’s inability to score as of late, the Browns allow the fifth most fantasy points to opposing D/STs.

The New Orleans Saints get the luxury of hosting Watson and the Browns following their bye week. With extra rest, home field advantage, and an opponent trending downwards, the Saints D/ST has real streamer appeal in Week 9. New Orleans has at least eight fantasy points in four of their seven games this year, including games against the Ravens with Lamar Jackson. The Saints also took care of business against worse offenses like the Vikings and Giants. That should be expected, but not every team can perform in ideal situations. It is not a predictor of future outcomes, but it is encouraging. The Saints are averaging over 2.5 sacks per game this year. That number should only increase after going up against Deshaun Watson. There is some concern as the Saints defense ranks 30th in DVOA, but they may be able to generate enough pressure to overcome that. Stream the Saints D/ST in Week 9.

New York Giants (at Philadelphia Eagles)

Fantrax Rostership: 22% (Other platforms: 3% – 4%)

The Eagles are bad, and it isn’t getting any better. While Tanner McKee has shown an ability to lead an offense for a few drives, he falls apart quickly. McKee is averaging just 212.7 passing yards per game against the Panthers, Cowboys, and Commanders. All three teams rank 19th or worse in pass defense DVOA. If McKee can’t win the juicy matchups, what hope does he have? Of course, not all of this is his fault. Saquon Barkley is limited, the offensive line is destroyed, and DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are hurt. At full strength, the Eagles are better than this. Even then, they are hard to trust.

The Giants rank 19th in defensive DVOA and could have a solid outing against McKee and company. The Eagles’ signal-caller has thrown just two TDs to two interceptions in three starts. Now facing a Giants team coming off a bye, the struggles should continue. While the Giants have generated a league-low nine sacks this season, they can still find fantasy success. Safety Jevon Holland has three interceptions in seven games, and they have two beasts on the line in Abdul Carter and DJ Reader. There are some great pieces even if the Giants are not playing the best defense in the world. The Giants are a low-upside but high-floor D/ST streamer in Week 9.
