2026 Fantasy Football: Week 4 Quarterback Rankings

Welcome to our Week 4 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings!

Four guys I had ranked as my QB18 or worse last week finished inside the top five in Week 3: Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, and Jacoby Brissett. You truly can’t make this stuff up!

Sam Darnold threw for 379 yards and four touchdowns in his return from injury, though it still fell short in a surprising loss to the Commanders. Geno Smith threw for 321 yards and three passing touchdowns with turnover-free football. Jacoby Brissett, who finished most of his games as a QB1 last year, exploded into QB4 territory by launching an insane 52 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns, plus a rushing touchdown to stack up 25.6 fantasy points.

Spoiler alert: I don’t expect these guys to repeat these massive numbers or regularly produce QB1 numbers. However, these are the weeks that prove we need to take these starting quarterbacks seriously and can’t simply write them off as automatic QB2s or worse.

Heck, even Case Keenum showed up as the QB7! Two weeks ago, Keenum was sitting as a third-string QB firmly behind Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent. Then he went out and obliterated the Eagles defense to the tune of 247 yards, two passing touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown to finish with 24.5 fantasy points.

Week 3 Duds & Bounce-Back Targets

On the flip side, Week 3 gave us plenty of duds. Jalen Hurts threw for just 153 yards and an interception, relying on a rushing touchdown to squeeze by as the QB24. Kyler Murray got off to a hot start before Justin Jefferson tweaked his ankle and left the game. From then on, Murray struggled, completing just 51.7% of his passes for 168 yards with a 1:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio and only 17 yards on the ground. Spoiler alert: I expect much better numbers from Kyler this week—it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he finishes as a top-12 QB1 against a helpless Dolphins secondary.

A few bedrock stars I expect to bounce back in Week 4 are Jared Goff, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes, who finished as the QB17, QB18, QB19, and QB20 last week, respectively.

Without further ado, here are my Week 4 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings!

Tier 1: League of His Own

1) Josh Allen (vs. NE)

Josh Allen (QB1): While Allen surprisingly struggled through the air against the Chargers, he saved his fantasy day by rushing for two touchdowns on eight carries—a perfect reminder of why his fantasy floor remains supreme. Even in a tough division matchup against the Patriots, Allen remains the indisputable, clear-cut QB1 overall.

Tier 2: Elite QB1s

2) Patrick Mahomes II (@ LV) | 3) Trevor Lawrence (@ CIN) | 4) Lamar Jackson (vs. TEN) | 5) Brock Purdy (vs. DEN) | 6) Tyler Shough (vs. ATL) | 7) Jalen Hurts (vs. LAR) | 8) Jared Goff (@ CAR)

Trevor Lawrence (QB3): Lawrence travels to Cincinnati to face Joe Burrow and a Bengals defense allowing roughly 20 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Expect a high-volume shootout between Lawrence and Burrow.

Brock Purdy (QB5): Purdy has a tricky matchup against a stingy Broncos defense, but Purdy simply continues to produce at an elite level. You cannot bench him, and you can comfortably expect top-5 production given his rushing floor and the ascension of superstar tight end George Kittle.

Tyler Shough (QB6): I finally placed Shough in my top 10 last week, and he delivered in a huge way with QB6 numbers—throwing for 255 yards and four touchdowns while adding 36 yards on the ground. He firmly holds his spot in the top 10 and should have no trouble stringing together elite numbers at home in primetime against a vulnerable Falcons defense.

Tier 3: High-End QBs with Upside

9) Joe Burrow (vs. JAC) | 10) Dak Prescott (@ HOU) | 11) Bryce Young (vs. DET)

Dak Prescott (QB10): While this matchup looks intimidating on paper, Prescott doesn’t have to travel far as Dallas heads to Houston for an in-state showdown against the Texans. Houston has been surprisingly vulnerable through the air, surrendering the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season.

Tier 4: Talented with Matchup Volatility

12) Kyler Murray (vs. MIA) | 13) Matthew Stafford (@ PHI) | 14) Bo Nix (@ SF) | 15) Drake Maye (@ BUF) | 16) Jordan Love (@ TB)

Kyler Murray (QB12): Expect Murray to have a field day at home against a Miami defense allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Murray should have superstar target Justin Jefferson back after reports indicated he avoided a major ankle injury. Jefferson’s presence elevates Murray’s floor significantly and should catapult his confidence for the rest of the season. Expect a top-12 finish at minimum.

Drake Maye (QB15): I might have Maye ranked a bit high following his QB32 performance last week when he completed 56% of his passes for 199 yards and two interceptions. However, the silver lining is that traveling to Buffalo forces New England into a trailing game script to match Josh Allen, giving Maye plenty of opportunities to produce with his legs.

Tier 5: QB2s with Some Upside

17) C.J. Stroud (vs. DAL) | 18) Marcus Mariota (vs. IND) | 19) Daniel Jones (@ WAS) | 20) Geno Smith (@ CHI) | 21) Sam Darnold (vs. LAC)

C.J. Stroud (QB17): Stroud enters a prime spot for a negative game script, which will require heavy passing and scrambling volume to keep pace with Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. That environment gives him a steady mid-to-low QB2 floor.

Sam Darnold (QB21): Darnold went off in Washington last week to finish as the QB2, but don’t expect a repeat performance at home against a stout Chargers defense. With Justin Herbert struggling and the Chargers offense underachieving overall, Seattle won’t need Darnold to drop back continuously to stay in this game.

Tier 6: Floor QB2 Options

22) Justin Herbert (@ SEA) | 23) Jacoby Brissett (@ NYG) | 24) Michael Penix Jr. (@ NO) | 25) Malik Willis (@ MIN) | 26) Kirk Cousins (vs. KC) | 27) Deshaun Watson (vs. PIT)

Justin Herbert (QB22): Herbert travels to Seattle to take on a defense allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. Combined with his ongoing season struggles and a disappointing QB23 finish last week, there is currently no end in sight to his cold streak.

Tier 7: Deep Superflex & Desperation Plays

28) Jameis Winston (vs. ARI) | 29) Aaron Rodgers (@ CLE) | 30) Tyson Bagent (vs. NYJ) | 31) Jalon Daniels (vs. GB) | 32) Cam Ward (@ BAL)

Jameis Winston (QB28): It’s now or never for Winston. Following the Giants’ acquisition of J.J. McCarthy from Minnesota, Winston is playing to keep his job. If he can pull off a victory over a gritty Cardinals team that nearly shocked the 49ers last week, he should hold off McCarthy for at least another week. Expect Prime Tampa Bay Jameis to make an appearance this Sunday!
