4 Impact Pitching Prospects for 2026 Fantasy Baseball

Pitching prospects rarely make the same immediate fantasy impact as their hitting counterparts. Organizations are more cautious with young arms, carefully managing innings, workloads, and promotions to protect long-term development. While the spotlight often shines on prospects like Nolan McLean, Trey Yesavage, Thomas White, and Bubba Chandler, this article looks beyond the obvious to identify four pitching prospects who could carve out meaningful fantasy value in 2026.

Your first step… Well, okay, your second step, right after reading this article, is to head over and devour our updated Top 500 Dynasty Baseball Rankings for 2026.

What?! Your fantasy baseball league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season? Preposterous! Check out what the Fantrax MLB Commissioner has to offer, and we think you’ll be singing a different tune for the 2026 MLB season.

4 Impact Pitching Prospects for 2026 Fantasy Baseball

Connelly Early (SP – Boston Red Sox)

Fantrax Rank – 115
MLB.com Rank – 56
FanGraphs – 38

A 5th-round pick back in 2023, Early has developed quickly and flown through the Red Sox system. He has not only flashed big upside with a 30%+ K rate at every level, but he has also displayed excellent control and posted a 1.19 and 1.11 WHIP over his last two minor league seasons.

After posting a dominant 2.60 ERA/2.95 xFIP in 2025, he got his shot with the Red Sox at the end of the season and looked every bit the part of a major league pitcher. He didn’t allow more than two earned runs in either of his four starts while tallying 29 strikeouts (36.7% rate) against just four walks (5.1%) for a very impressive 2.33 ERA, 2.35 xFIP, and 1.09 WHIP.

He is major league ready, and if he doesn’t crack the Opening Day roster, he will be up soon and can make a major impact for fantasy in all formats.

Robby Snelling (SP – Miami Marlins)

Fantrax Rank – 34
MLB.com Rank – 39
FanGraphs – 80

One of my favorite situations to monitor this Spring Training will be the battle at the back end of the Marlins’ rotation, which includes multiple top prospects. Thomas White is ranked much higher, but I think Robby Snelling has just as good, if not better shot at making the Opening Day roster.

White was dominant, posting a 38.6% K rate across three levels last season, but had issues with walks (13.6%). Snelling, on the other hand, made 25 starts across Double-A and Triple-A posting an elite 2.51 ERA/2.71 xFIP while striking out 30% and walking just 7% of batters.

The biggest change for Snelling came after the 2024 season, when he was traded from the Padres in the Tanner Scott deal. Before debuting with the Marlins, he went to an outside facility, changed his delivery, and added velocity to his entire arsenal. He now sits in the mid 90s and can hit the high 90s with his fastball and has three secondary pitches: a slider, curveball, and changeup.

Like Early above, if he doesn’t make the Opening Day roster, it won’t be long before he is in the Marlins rotation in 2026. He looks the part of a solid middle-of-the-rotation pitcher who could provide value in all formats.

Logan Henderson (SP – Milwaukee Brewers)

Fantrax Rank – 93
MLB.com Rank – NR
FanGraphs – 88

Henderson is another risk/reward prospect who is currently coming at the back end of drafts. He has a lot going for him, starting with the opportunity to be developed by one of the best organizations in baseball in terms of pitching.

The Brewers haven’t rushed him, and it appears to be paying off. He did battle elbow issues in a somewhat lost 2022 but has been terrific since. Over 37 starts in 2023 and 2024, he tallied a 3.04 ERA, .94 WHIP, and striking out 100+ in each of those seasons posted a 34% K rate. In 2025, he made another big leap, looking strong at both the Triple-A and major league levels. The most impressive were his five starts for the Brewers, where he posted a 1.78 ERA, 3.36 xFIP, .99 WHIP, and elite 33% K rate. He didn’t have enough innings to qualify for the percentile rankings on Baseball Savant, but is in elite territory when looking at chase %, K %, and hard hit %.

To continue his development in 2026, he will need to add more secondary pitch usage, as he ran a fastball/changeup combo 89% of the time in those five starts after sitting around 80% throughout the minors. The good news is that the base is there, as those two pitches created a 40% and 29% K rate in the majors, and both were above 11% swinging strike rate. The other risk, which I do think develops, is his stamina, as he has yet to throw 100+ innings in a season.

Finally, the opportunity is also lining up after the Brewers traded away Freddy Peralta in the offseason, and it also appears that ace Brandon Woodruff may not be ready for Opening Day. With a good Spring Training, Henderson may see a big jump in ADP, so the best time to grab him is now. With his skillset, he might become a value in not just points leagues, but category and roto as well.

Parker Messick (SP – Cleveland Guardians)

Fantrax Rank – 188
MLB.com Rank – 95
FanGraphs – 82

While he is rated lower than all the names above, Messick could very well have the highest floor and the least amount of risk for fantasy in 2026. After Tanner Bibee and Gavin Williams, the competition is pretty much open for the final three spots in the Guardians rotation.

First of all, he impressed in a late-season callup in 2025, going 3-1 with 2.72 ERA, 3.07 xERA, and 19.4% K-BB%. He isn’t going to provide elite strikeout upside, but already has an elite changeup and evolving five-pitch mix, throwing neither under 10%. As you can see in a limited sample size below, he is in the 90%+ percentile range when looking at xERA, BB %, barrel %, hard hit %, and GB %.

Messick also likely presents the least amount of risk in terms of stamina as he has pitched 130+ innings in each of the last two seasons. He makes a nice late-round arm that can balance out multiple categories in roto or category leagues.
