Most Favorable Schedules
Minnesota Timberwolves – ATL, @PHX, @UTA, WAS
With the Wolves playing four defensive duds this week, every rotation player should be on the fantasy table. Mike Conley has had a somewhat of a resurgence. Rob Dillingham and Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be reasonable options in deeper leagues with Donte DiVincenzo out for multiple weeks.
Toronto Raptors – NOP, @WAS, CHI, LAC
With a soft schedule and two injured bigs in Jakob Poeltl and Kelly Olynyk, Chris Boucher comes waltzing back into our fantasy lives. At point guard, as long as Immanuel Quickley remains out, Bruce Brown and Davion Mitchell have the potential for double-digit scoring games.
Cleveland Cavaliers – DET, @MIA, ATL, DAL
Despite the Big Four largely monopolizing the Cavs fantasy production, this week’s schedule leaves space to activate Max Strus and Ty Jerome.
Dallas Mavericks – WAS, @NOP, @DET, @CLE
Luka Dončić remains out for a while still, which is great for guys like Spencer Dinwiddie and Quentin Grimes. Both are averaging around 30 minutes without Luka in the lineup. Also, keep an eye on Naji Marshall who is currently ill but should contribute significantly once recovered.
What to do with Jimmy Butler?
Butler will be returning from his two-game suspension on Monday against the Magic. At least that is the expectation for now. There are slight murmurs of him getting benched and, of course, he could be traded during the week anyway. Or suspended. In a fantasy league with a weekly roster, I’d still recommend adding Butler to the lineup. Despite the downsides, even without trying too hard, Butler will come up with a solid enough stat line as he did in the three games between his two suspensions. In those games, he averaged 13 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds. There is always a chance he will have a monster game to prove a point too.
Usage Watch
Over the last week, Isaiah Collier (PG, Utah Jazz) has increased his usage percentage the most in the league compared to the season previously. He’s seemingly in the battle for the Jazz starting point guard job with Keyonte George. This may be something worth monitoring.
That concludes this week’s Usage Watch.
