Dynasty Fantasy Football: Value Quarterback Buys

Finding discounts and values in Fantasy Football is far easier said than done, but it can give you a true edge in your Dynasty Leagues. I typically look at a “value” as a player who has a mismatched worth in leagues. This referenced mismatch for me means that the player’s market Fantasy value is lower now than what that value and/or production can be later. As I always say for Dynasty – timing is key at the end of the day, so jumping on value when the cost is lower now is the smart way to go,

Your typical Fantasy Football League has 12 teams, and not everyone can have the household names of Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, etc rostered. Quarterbacks are arguably the most popular position at the end of the day, but their production for Fantasy Football can be inconsistent, with busts, breakouts, and big surprises, completely changing your championship run.

In SuperFlex Leagues where you can start more than one quarterback. Having depth at the position and power in general can be very difficult. Trading for quarterbacks in this format can be difficult as well. So finding value targets can truly give your rosters the push they need to compete for a championship in 2025-26. Below is a list of quarterbacks I feel are great targets due to the perceived gap that their value now is lower than their production later.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Value QB Buys

Bryce Young, Panthers

The former 2023 first-overall draft pick was a major Fantasy Football riser through the second half of 2024. Looking specifically at Weeks 8-12, Young for the position:

  • #12 in total Fantasy Points
  • Averaged 18.6 Fantasy points per game (PPG)
  • A ratio of 15 passing touchdowns to six interceptions
  • #10 in rushing yards
  • Tied for #3 in rushing touchdowns

Yong simply looked the part, and there was a clear progression in his game. Carolina will continue to build around their franchise quarterback and his trajectory is going in the right direction.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys

Dak Prescott has missed time in two out of three of his last seasons played, which has impacted his Dynasty value. In Dak’s last full season (2023):

  • 590 passing attempts (#4)
  • 4,516 passing yards (#3)
  • 36 passing touchdowns (#1)
  • 20.7 Fantasy PPG (#4)

Dak has averaged 20+ Fantasy PPG in four of his last six seasons. There has been plenty of passing upside and Fantasy production tied to Prescott, who might end up being the best veteran value this off-season that contenders should shoot their shots at. Dallas likely will add a compliment to CeeDee Lamb this off-season as well.

Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins

People forget that in 2023 Tua Tagovailoa led the league in passing yards with 4.624 yards and 29 passing touchdowns. Via playerprofiler Tua in 2023 ranked:

  • #2 in yards per attempt
  • #1 in accuracy rating
  • #7 in true completion percentage
  • #2 in deep ball completion percentage

When Tua is healthy, there is a ton of passing upside attached to him and the speed the Miami offense operates on. Even in a world where Tyreek Hill departs this off-season (rumors), Tua will still be a guy who you can count on to rack up the yards and touchdowns in 2025.

Justin Fields, Free Agent

When Justin Fields is on the field, you can expect major Fantasy Football upside. This 2025  NFL Draft Class is just okay for the quarterback position, and with so many teams needing a boost there in 2025, there is a realistic chance Fields is a starter somewhere as a current Free Agent. Through six starts in 202,4 Fields had weeks of 19.4, 32, and 23.7 Fantasy Points. Fields averaged 18.4 and 20.5 Fantasy Points in 2023/2022. His 1,143 rushing yards in 2022 was well beyond “rushing upside.” I still very much believe in the dual-threat abilities of Justin Fields (Bears fan bias…?) and taking a shot on him before he is potentially locked in as a 2025 starter seems like a no-brainer move.

Jared Goff, Lions

I strongly believe that Jared Goff is consistently underrated in Dynasty Fantasy Football formats. Across the 2024 / 2023 seasons Goff:

  • 19.8 (#7) / 17.8 (#11) Fantasy PPG
  • 4,629 / 4,571 passing yards
  • 37 / 30 passing touchdowns

This man leads one of the NFL’s best offenses and has displayed tons of passing upside the last two seasons, but is ranked on Keep Trade Cut’s website as the QB22 in Dynasty. Sometimes the math simply does not math, and it clearly does not with the Goff valuation.
