Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Tuesday, June 24, 2025. In today’s edition, the Diamondbacks need something to go their way. After all of the pitching injuries that they have sustained, they may have just lost Corbin Carroll, Eugenio Suarez, and Josh Naylor due to separate injuries. Read about that and so much more in today’s MLB Injury Report from Fantrax.

MLB Injury Report
Chris Sale – SP Atlanta Braves
https://twitter.com/DOBrienATL/status/1937259314198249625
Sale revealed in an interview that he has two small fractures in his ribcage area and that he’s not worried. Granted, most players tend to minimize their injuries to the point of convincing others that they will be okay. Whether or not it happens is another story altogether. As for this injury in particular, it’s somewhat reassuring that the Braves feel he will pitch again this season, but it’s by no means a guarantee. Rib fractures make a lot of ordinary tasks difficult, and pushing oneself too far, too fast, can lead to additional injuries.
Corbin Carroll – OF Arizona Diamondbacks
Torey Lovullo tells @ToddWalsh that Corbin Carroll has a “chip fracture” in his left wrist still waiting for direction on what this means from Dr. Sheridan. He will go on the IL
— Jody Jackson (@Jody_Jackson) June 24, 2025
Awful news here for fantasy baseball managers who were waiting on Corbin Carroll’s return to the lineup. We didn’t find this out until after the Diamondbacks had started playing, meaning some people started him this week after the encouraging reports, which didn’t include any sort of breakage. Now, it’s unclear the amount of time he will miss, but it will likely be more than the ten-day minimum. I guess that the “chip” part of the fracture means it is smaller than a full fracture, but regardless, weeks or months away could be missed here. The hope is that he can return by season’s end, but given how ravaged the team is with injuries, the Diamondbacks may be out of contention by the time he’s close to being healed, and they may not rush him back.
Josh Naylor – 1B Arizona Diamondbacks
Josh Naylor exited tonight’s game due to right shoulder discomfort. He is considered day to day.
— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) June 24, 2025
As if the team hadn’t suffered enough, they may lose Naylor for some time here with a shoulder injury. These can be tricky to overcome, especially because of how vicious the swinging of a bat can be. In addition, this is a recurring injury from earlier in June, where he needed to be removed for shoulder soreness. At the very least, a short stint on the Injured List is expected here. Stay tuned.
Eugenio Suarez – 3B Arizona Diamondbacks
Right Hand Contusion, x-rays negative for Eugenio Suarez, per D-backs Broadcast
— Jack Sommers (@shoewizard59) June 24, 2025
Suarez was hit by a pitch early in Monday’s game, and while the X-rays were negative, there’s still a chance for some swelling and inflammation. Chances are that he misses a handful of games at most, unless they decide to be extra cautious and perform more testing today to ensure no other damage has been done.
Brandon Woodruff – SP Milwaukee Brewers
Brandon Woodruff completed a 60-pitch sim game today, next up is one more rehab assignment of ~80 pitches. The Brewers are still finalizing official plans, but after that start — knock on wood for no freak injuries this time — will be a return to the big league mound.
— Curt Hogg (@CyrtHogg) June 23, 2025
This progression seems promising. The hope is that his next outing, slated for around 80 pitches, can be injury-free. His last two “final” rehab outings ended in heartbreak and injuries, but if all else goes well, we could see him return to the Brewers by this time next week.
Kenley Jansen – RP Los Angeles Angels
Kenley Jansen had a cramp in his pec and is expected to be fine, Ray Montgomery said.
— Rhett Bollinger (@RhettBollinger) June 24, 2025
After the game, Jansen said that he would be available today, so the news can’t be seen as too serious. That said, players have often misdiagnosed themselves before, so fantasy owners should be cautious about this optimism. Look for Reid Detmers to fill in for him if a save opportunity arises and Jansen is held out.
Kodai Senga – SP New York Mets
Kodai Senga (hamstring) is scheduled to play catch off a mound today. He has been able to keep his arm moving through this process. Called it a "bummer" that he's going to miss time but hopes to be back before too long.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 23, 2025
Pretty good news here regarding Senga, in that he seems to be on track from where it was expected he would be by now. It’s positive news, too, that he has been able to keep his arm moving throughout this entire ordeal. He still has a long way to go before returning, but he’s at least on the path he should be right now and seems destined to continue along (*knock on wood*).
Mark Vientos – 3B New York Mets
Mark Vientos (hamstring) is scheduled to play Tuesday and Wednesday at Triple-A Syracuse, so it's going to be another few days before the Mets will consider activating him.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 23, 2025
It’s unclear if Vientos needs a bit more time because of health or performance thus far, but it’s worth noting that he has been ice cold at the plate throughout his rehab appearance. This could be just a bit more time for him to get his timing and mechanics up to speed.
Keibert Ruiz – C Washington Nationals
Keibert Ruiz went to the hospital for a CAT scan. Davey Martinez said he had a lump on the side of his head after getting struck by Josh Bell’s foul ball that caromed off the back of the dugout.
— Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman) June 24, 2025
Ruiz has had head injuries before, suffering from lightheadedness back in 2023 and then missing extensive time with the flu. The hope is that he avoided a concussion and will be ready to return within a matter of days.
