Fantasy Football: This WR or That WR

For fantasy football, I delivered This RB or That RB as my latest article. Now, it is time to discuss six wide receivers grouped in pairs that have similar ADPs. I will give you my thoughts on each of them and who I would draft between the three pairs I will be discussing. Let’s go!

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Fantasy Football: This WR or that WR

Garrett Wilson or Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Now, here are two former Ohio State University wide receivers who have tremendous upside to one day be top-five in the NFL. Wilson has started his NFL career with three consecutive seasons of over 1,000 receiving yards. Last year, he was able to play with Aaron Rodgers and was the WR10 in total points. This year, he gets to play with his college QB, Justin Fields, and the hype is real. It has been reported that Wilson will be lining up in numerous spots on the offense, and there is a real shot we see him with over 1,200 yards and another 100-plus receptions. Currently, Wilson has an ADP of 36.8, good for WR15.

Smith-Njigba had a slow rookie season, but broke out in year two. He nearly doubled his receiving total and was the WR9 in total points in full PPR leagues. The Seattle Seahawks added Cooper Kupp this offseason, but if anything, it makes it easier now for Smith-Njigba to get open in 2025. Smith-Njigba has an ADP of 34.4 and WR14. As of now, I am leaning towards drafting Wilson in fantasy football this season.

Tee Higgins or Tyreek Hill

For starters, in most seasons, this should not even be a debate. The answer should always be Tyreek Hill, but there is too much drama concerning Hill in 2025. Will the Miami Dolphins trade him? Is he the team’s WR1, still? Hill is a value with an ADP of 28.6 and WR12. Despite last season, over the previous four seasons, Hill had an average WR finish of WR3 in fantasy football.

As for Tee Higgins, his 17-game pace last year was good for WR4. Higgins is tied to Joe Burrow and plays alongside the best receiver in football, Ja’Marr Chase. He will never be the WR1 on his team, but Burrow is capable of supporting two WR1s in fantasy football. The Cincinnati Bengals have a bottom-ten defense, and Burrow will be passing it over 35 times every game in 2025. It might sound crazy, but give me Higgins over Hill at current cost this season.

D.J. Moore or DK Metcalf

Two years ago, D.J. Moore had the best season of his NFL career. He was the WR9 on a PPG basis and had over 1,300 receiving yards. Last year, he took a step back and had 966 yards, although he saw two more receptions than he did in 2023. I think there are too many mouths to feed on the Chicago Bears’ offense. Moore has an ADP of 48.6 and WR20. I have another receiver in mind that I would select who is going as the WR21 in 2025.

DK Metcalf has not lived up to the hype of his 2020 season, but he has a fresh start. Metcalf was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason and gets to play with the best QB of his entire career. No disrespect towards Russell Wilson; he is not Aaron Rodgers. Some people like to say Rodgers is washed, but he is just old. In 2024, Rodgers threw for 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. George Pickens was traded, too. I think Metcalf finally outplays his ADP and enters the WR1 discussions again this season. His current ADP is 49.6 and WR21. For fantasy football in 2025, give me Metcalf over Moore.
