What a return for the NBA. So much has been packed into one week already. Off-court dealings aside, we’ve had Victor Wembanyama looking like a rendered character, Aaron Gordon going for 50, Austin Reaves going for 50, Luka Doncic averaging 46, LaMelo Ball playing like we knew he could. Giannis, Jokic, Steph, Shai – it’s all kicking off!
What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025-26 season.

Most Favorable Schedules
Memphis Grizzlies – @GSW @PHX LAL @TOR
It’s all about Cedric Coward over in Memphis, Tennessee. In three games so far, he’s averaged 19 points, 2.7 threes, and 1.7 steals in only 22.7 minutes. Can he keep up the 72.7% shooting from three? Yes. Maybe not. But he is a good shooter – 40% from three and 80%+ from the line in college. And with a likely increase in playing time moving forward, Coward should provide enough value for most fantasy teams.
Utah Jazz – PHX POR @PHX @CHA
Two games into their season, the Utah Jazz have 10 players averaging 16 or more minutes per game. Not really ideal for fantasy production. Their best fantasy player is probably Walker Kessler, based on his steals and blocks (5 and 4 in total). Lauri Markkanen has scored a lot (26.5 ppg) but not done much else. Ace Bailey, the rookie everyone is excited about, averages 1 point per game so far and ranks as the 381st-best fantasy player on my list. I wouldn’t drop him based on two games just yet. I’d drop him based on the fact that rookies generally don’t deliver in fantasy anyway. On a more positive note, Brice Sensabaugh has shot very well and a lot so far – 54.2% on 12 field goal attempts with 3 made threes per game.
Cleveland Cavaliers – @DET @BOS TOR ATL
While we’re waiting for Darius Garland to return from his toe injury – it should be within a couple of weeks – let’s see who’s taken advantage of their increased minutes. That person is Sam Merrill. Merrill has averaged 19.3 points with 5 threes made so far in three games. The percentages look reasonably sustainable, and I can’t see why it couldn’t continue at least until Garland’s return. After that, it will get tougher, but it’s not like the Cavs wouldn’t need a dead-eye shooter off the bench.
Oklahoma City Thunder – @PHI @DET @CHA @WAS
A lot of injuries for the Thunder to start the season. However, it doesn’t seem to matter as they’re still 3-0. Jalen Williams hasn’t played this year yet, which has given an opportunity to, mainly, Ajay Mitchell, who reminds me of, dare I say, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Williams’ return will absolutely eat into Mitchell’s production, so the upside is somewhat limited unless he really blossoms.
