Most Favorable Schedules

Atlanta Hawks – @LAC @SAC @UTA @PHX

The Trae Young-less Hawks are facing the easiest schedule this week. With Young out for at least a month and Nickeil Alexander-Walker also potentially missing time, Luke Kennard is due a bump in minutes and would be a good source of three-pointers. Jalen Johnson might also miss a few games, in which case Mouhamed Gueye, who played great against the win over the Lakers, is a decent short-term pickup.

San Antonio Spurs – @CHI GSW GSW SAC

Jeremy Sochan has recently made his season debut and is at least worth keeping an eye on in case he pops off, which he might do. But in some ways, the Spurs roster has moved past him. Harrison Barnes is only rostered in 32% of Fantrax leagues, so he should be picked up after a week where he averaged 16.5 points with 4 threes per game.

Cleveland Cavaliers – @MIA @MIA TOR MEM

Jaylon Tyson has moved to the position of the best Cavs player outside of the Big 4 as of now. Will it last? Will it not last? Who knows, but he does put up a very nice, balanced stat line. Sam Merrill is also in contention for the fifth-best Cav, averaging 4 threes per game.

New Orleans Pelicans – @PHX POR LAL GSW

Yes, the team’s a disaster on court, but that’s irrelevant for fantasy basketball. Also, Zion is already injured, which is relevant, but that’s just how it goes. What we need to figure out is who the rosterable New Orleans players are. Trey Murphy III and Herbert Jones, yes. Zion, if you’re willing to play the injury game and also take the free-throw hit. Jordan Poole, if you’re taking the field goal hit. Poole is also out injured right now. Jose Alvarado might be a solid temporary pickup. Also, the rookies Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen have shown nice flashes and may be worth a speculative pickup.

Usage Watch

Over the last 7 days, the player with the highest Usage% increase is Julian Champagnie of the San Antonio Spurs. Followed by Karl-Anthony Towns, Naji Marshall, Michael Porter Jr., and Kon Knueppel. Is Will Richard also worth a mention? Yes, he is.

The biggest Usage% decreases were by Zach LaVine, Derrick White, Lonzo Ball, Jimmy Butler III, and Jaren Jackson Jr.
