College Fantasy Football: Week 13 Sleepers

With the leaves falling in Connecticut and Thanksgiving break just around the corner, I could not be any happier in my personal life. Yet, it is the thrilling College Fantasy Football playoffs in my alternative reality realm that occupy endless hours of contemplation and analysis.

After an exhilarating Saturday watching UConn defeat Air Force at the Rent, I made it home in time to catch the second half of the afternoon games and evening slate of gridiron action to root for my players and teams. Chris Battistel and I are back to help CFF coaches with starting lineup decisions to reach their CFF Championship Games. Good luck, everyone, this weekend.

There’s no such thing as too much football! 2025 is the perfect time to add the college game to your fantasy football repertoire. Whether you want to create your own league or join an existing league, the Fantrax College Football Commissioner is the place to go!

Week 13 College Fantasy Football Sleepers

Quarterbacks

Jeff Sims (Laub)

Arizona State at Colorado
FPPG: 15.1
Fantrax Ownership: 6%
O/U 48.5, Arizona State -7.5
Opposing Total Defense: 420 ypg and 30 ppg.
PFF Grade: 66.8

A previous sleeper pick last week, Jeff Sims, proved to be a successful sleeper for CFF owners in need at quarterback. In my DFS lineups, I trusted the sixth-year signal caller, and he delivered with 28.4 DFS points. Sims passed for 207 yards with three touchdowns and scampered for 81 yards, showcasing his potential and making him a strong contender for teams this week.

In season-long CFF leagues, Jeff Sims scored 34.4 Fantasy Points (FPs). Since replacing Sam Leavitt behind center two games ago, the dynamic dual-threat playmaker has produced 82.2 FPs. As he gears up for the game against Colorado, I anticipate a productive afternoon for Sims and the Sun Devils’ offense, which should excite fantasy football players and make them eager for the upcoming game.

Roman Gagliano (Battistel)

Middle Tennessee vs Sam Houston
FPPG: 14.6
Fantrax Ownership: 1%
O/U 54.5, Middle Tennessee -7.5
Opposing Passing Defense: 275 ypg and 16 P-TDs
PFF Grade: 67.3

The Blue Raiders were looking for some life at the quarterback position. Granted, it came from an injury, but they got exactly that this past weekend. Coach Derek Mason labelled him a “force multiplier” and someone he would “take into any fight he was going into.” Even though Middle Tennessee didn’t win, Gagliano ran a more efficient offense. He put up 378 passing yards, 471 total, without an interception on 43 attempts. Vattiato, the previous starter, has thrown an interception in every game but two this season and hasn’t had a single 300-yard outing. Gagliano also gives us the rushing factor, almost matching Vattiato’s nine-game total in one week. It’s a breath of fresh air for CFF managers.

This week, if Vattiato’s injury keeps him out or if Middle Tennessee decides to roll with the freshman anyway, the matchup couldn’t be sweeter. Week 13 brings the 1-8 Sam Houston Bearkats, a defense that ranks in the bottom 15 in almost every category against opposing quarterbacks. Opposing quarterbacks are averaging 26.24 FPPG, with only one going below the 20-point mark. Given his ability through the air and on the ground, Roman “Fed Ex” Gagliano can be considered a must-start in Week 13 against the porous Sam Houston defense and should even be in consideration for championship weekend in his tilt against New Mexico State.

Honorable Mention

Caden Creel

Jacksonville State at Florida International
FPPG: 16.2
Fantrax Ownership: 12%
O/U 55.5, Jacksonville State +1.5
Opposing Total Defense: 407 ypg and 29.6 ppg
PFF Grade: 65.4

CFF Diehards on Fire!

It is CFF Semifinals Week: Who Ya Got on the Waiver Wire at quarterback?

  • Jeff Sims, Arizona State: 25%
  • Gunner Stockton, Georgia: 32%
  • Bear Bachmeier, BYU: 28%
  • Conner Weigman, Houston: 15%

“Gunner Stockton seems like the obvious choice with his matchup, but I’ll happily be in the minority selecting Conner Weigman. He’s been exceptionally consistent and provides the high floor I’m looking for in the playoffs.” @eliotmays

“Finally, after six years, Jeff Sims could finally win someone a CFF league title.” @MBainbridgeCFF

“The Bear for me! No. 47…throwback jersey….gives me the, heck yeah vibes!” @aceholesrule

Running Backs

Omari Arnold (Battistel)

Georgia Southern vs Old Dominion
FPPG: 17.4
Fantrax Ownership: 34%
O/U 63.5, Georgia Southern +12.5
Opposing Rush Defense: 159 ypg and 13 R-TDs
PFF Grade: 86.1

There aren’t too many running backs on the under-the-radar market who could really be called big sleepers. Given the fact that he has five games this season with fifteen or more fantasy points, and is coming off a game with 393 all-purpose yards, 73 of those through the air, and four total touchdowns, one of those passing, Omari Arnold should not be a sleeper or anywhere near your waiver wire, but here we are. A look at some healthy numbers for Arnold shows that he has handled 62% of the team’s running back carries and 55% of the running back targets. All significant numbers, but if you cut that down to the last five weeks, his rushing usage jumps to 75%, and his target share climbs to 68%. Numbers that would make VolumePigs proud.

Looking ahead to this week’s semifinal matchup and next week’s finals, Georgia Southern draws Old Dominion and Marshall. Two decent matchups that should have Omari putting his stamp on your fantasy roster. Both defenses sit in the bottom half of the country when it comes to stopping opposing running backs. The Monarchs have allowed 159.1 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown per game this season. Marshall is similar in terms of yardage allowed, but when it comes to scoring, opposing running backs are averaging nearly two touchdowns per game. Great spot starts for the final two weeks for Arnold.

Jordan Simmons (Laub)

Georgia State at Troy
FPPG: 9.5
Fantrax Ownership: 2%
O/U 51.5, Troy -11.5
Opposing Rush Defense: 180 ypg and 17 R-TDs
PFF Grade: 70.4

This late in the season, I am not willing to take on too much risk in my starting lineups. If I do need an emergency starter, I will bank on volume and matchup—Jordan Simmons checks both boxes this weekend. He has carried the pigskin 39 times for 263 yards and two scores in the past two weeks. He also has 11 receptions for 89 yards, producing 58.2 FPs. Troy is kind to opposing runners, and Simmons should shine in this matchup.

Honorable Mention

London Montgomery

East Carolina at UTSA
FPPG: 12.8
Fantrax Ownership: 12%
O/U 61.5, East Carolina -2.5
Opposing Rush Defense:  148 ypg and 14 R-TDs
PFF Grade: 72.7

Wide Receivers

Malachi Fields (Laub)

Notre Dame at Syracuse
FPPG: 12.2
Fantrax Ownership: 32%
O/U 51.5, Notre Dame -35.5
Opposing Passing Defense: 267 ypg and 22 P-TDs
PFF Grade: 77.3

College football fans are familiar with the Fighting Irish’s predominantly ground-and-pound offense. Still, the air attack featuring CJ Carr and Malachi Fields has taken flight in the past three games. The 6-4 and 205-pound senior receiver has been targeted 20 times and snatched 13 passes for 248 yards and three scores, showing his potential to be a key wide receiver pick for your team.

For the season, Fields has recorded a 16.5 aDOT and 25 first downs while lining up 88.5% of the time out wide (X-receiver) in the formation. He averages over 18 yards per catch and has reached the promised land five times. The Syracuse secondary has been burned all season by opponents, and Fields will thrive downfield for the Irish and wise CFF coaches.

Nik McMillan (Battistel)

Buffalo vs Miami (OH)
FPPG: 13.7
Fantrax Ownership: 24%
O/U 39.5, Buffalo -2.5
Opposing Passing Defense: 200 ypg and 17 P-TDs
PFF Grade: 68.7

McMillan has been the go-to wideout for Buffalo over their last four games, racking up a salivating 50 targets and a 66% catch rate in that span. McMillan has put up 24.82 FPPG over those four games while only scoring two touchdowns. That is a great sign when you take a step back and look at the numbers. He is not being propped up by some wild touchdown total that is going to disappear. This is raw production; throw me the ball, and I will handle the rest. He has a quarter of his 523 receiving yards over his last four games, with a significant portion coming after the catch. Nik’s recent surge has him sitting at WR6 in FPPG and WR4 in total FPs since Week 8.

McMillan will be looking to make it five straight games with over 100 receiving yards when he faces the Miami of Ohio pass defense this week. He is a plug-and-play option the rest of the way with two great tilts, one against the RedHawks and the finals against the Ohio Bobcats. Both games are set up for inflated scores, providing an excellent opportunity for McMillan in the passing game. You want to win, put McMillan in lineups.

Honorable Mention

Elijah Metcalf

Southern Mississippi at Southern Alabama
FPPG: 10.9
Fantrax Ownership: 8%
O/U 54.5, Southern Mississippi -2.5
Opposing Passing Defense: 178 ypg and 14 P-TDs
PFF Grade: 74.5

Andrew Marsh

Michigan at Maryland
FPPG: 11.3
Fantrax Ownership: 21%
O/U 45.5, Michigan -13.5
Opposing Passing Defense: 221 ypg and 19 P-TDs
PFF Grade: 79.2
