Week 15 Fantasy Hockey Schedule Analysis

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins have struggled to collect wins during their last 10 games, but their upcoming schedule should help them bounce back into a playoff spot. To kick off the week, the Bruins have a date with two weaker Western Conference teams, the Seattle Kraken and the Calgary Flames. Then, over the weekend, Boston will host the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, both of which struggled throughout December.

Coming into this week, Boston’s roster has both offensive depth and peripheral contributors to choose from. For managers looking for scoring, picking up Pavel Zacha or Elias Lindholm would be the right call, especially since they’re also strong on the face-off dot. On the other hand, players such as Nikita Zadorov or Mark Kastelic are solid options for hits and blocks.

Vegas Golden Knights

Similar to the Bruins, the Vegas Golden Knights have been lackluster as of late, but they easily have the best schedule out of any NHL team coming into week 14. In order, Vegas will play against the Winnipeg Jets, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks, all of which are amongst the bottom 10 teams in the standings.

With Vegas’ explosive offence preparing to face some of the worst defensive teams in the league, picking up forwards such as Ivan Barbashev or Pavel Dorofeyev can help managers pick up points or win categories like shots on goal and hits. Although some may hesitate to pick up Carter Hart and Akira Schmid due to their disappointing play lately, they will most likely find success against teams that have struggled to score all season.

Washington Capitals

Outside of the Dallas Stars, the Washington Capitals should have no problem dominating the rest of their competition this week. Before playing Dallas on Wednesday, the Caps will face the Anaheim Ducks tonight, who are close to falling out of a playoff spot after a hot start. Additionally, Washington will play the Chicago Blackhawks and the Nashville Predators on the road, two teams that have been middling at home.

The Capitals have many players who can produce offensively while contributing to peripheral categories, with Connor McMichael and Ryan Leonard being some of the best options if available. Defensemen such as Martin Fehervary and Matt Roy are also reliable pickups for owners looking to add hits and blocks.

Outside of the three teams mentioned above, the Los Angeles Kings and the Utah Mammoth also have strong options to choose from on the waiver wire for their respective four-game weeks. Make sure to return next Monday for fantasy hockey schedule advice for week 15.
