Deep League Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 16

The calendar flipping to February signals two major pressure points: the All-Star break is near, and the NBA trade deadline (February 5) is even closer. What teams do over the next week will tell us everything about how they plan to finish the season. Are fringe contenders pushing for the Play-In? Or are they quietly pivoting toward lottery positioning?

Either way, “silly season” has already started — and that’s exactly where fantasy basketball value is born.

Below are deep-league waiver wire targets worth monitoring or adding now before the rest of your league catches up:

NBA Deep League Waiver Wire Adds

Pelle Larsson — G, Heat

Pelle Larsson continues to make the most of his extended opportunity, finishing Sunday’s win over Chicago with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, four rebounds, four assists, a steal, a block, and three triples.

Larsson has now scored 20+ points in two straight games and three of his last six, delivering top 100 fantasy value over the past two weeks. With Tyler Herro still sidelined and Norman Powell in and out of the lineup, Larsson’s minutes and usage have remained stable.

This isn’t just empty scoring. Larsson is an efficient shooter who contributes across the box score with sneaky rebounds, assists, and defensive stats. He’s a legitimately good basketball player, and Miami is trusting him with real minutes.

Mouhamed Gueye — F/C, Hawks

Gueye capitalized on a rare starting opportunity Saturday, posting 15 points, four rebounds, three steals, and a block in 31 minutes against Indiana.

Atlanta’s frontcourt is currently thin. Kristaps Porzingis is week-to-week, Onyeka Okongwu is day-to-day following a dental procedure, and those absences have forced the Hawks to dig deeper into the rotation. Gueye logged 32 minutes and immediately made an impact, particularly on the defensive end.

Long term, this role likely shrinks once Okongwu returns. But for now, Gueye’s steals and blocks give him short-term streaming appeal.

Aaron Wiggins — G/F, Thunder

Since returning from a two-game absence, Wiggins has strung together three solid performances. With Jalen Williams, Ajay Mitchell, and Alex Caruso all sidelined, Oklahoma City continues to lean on its depth.

Wiggins can help in points, rebounds, and three-pointers, and the path to minutes remains open as long as the Thunder are shorthanded. Lu Dort’s presence limits the ceiling slightly, but the floor is usable.

Ty Jerome — G, Grizzlies

Jerome wasted no time making noise in his Memphis debut, dropping 20 points in just 19 minutes while adding six assists, two threes, and a steal.

Despite returning from a calf injury, Jerome was immediately inserted into the starting lineup — and that alone tells you how the Grizzlies view him. With Ja Morant still out, Memphis needs scoring, and Jerome is clearly ahead of Cam Spencer in that department.

Memphis has a four-game Week 16 with a back-to-back, so Jerome may only play three games. Even so, the efficiency and role make him a must-add in deep leagues right now.

Marvin Bagley II — C, Wizards

Bagley was perfect from the field Sunday, finishing with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block, and a three while starting in place of Alex Sarr.

This is classic Bagley: productive when given minutes, but difficult to trust long-term and Washington’s rotation can change quickly. That said, Bagley remains a viable streamer on nights when the Wizards rest bodies or shift lineups.

De’Anthony Melton — G, Warriors

Melton continued his strong January with 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a three-pointer on Friday against Detroit. He’s now scored in double figures in nine of his last 11 games.

Minutes remain capped in the 22–24 range, which limits his ceiling. But Melton has quietly averaged 14.4 points per game in January while providing consistent steals. Golden State has no back-to-backs this week, making it likely that managers get a full three-game slate from him.

Melton is still flying under the radar.

Dominick Barlow — F, Sixers

With Paul George suspended for 25 games, Barlow logged 28 minutes Saturday but managed just eight points against the Knicks.

For now, this is a watch-and-see situation. The minutes are intriguing, but the production hasn’t followed up yet. Keep Barlow on your radar in deep leagues, but there’s no urgency to add unless the role stabilizes or expands further.
