Week 6 is here! We are a third of the way through the NFL season. How is your fantasy team doing? I dropped a little poem in another article, and it was a big hit, so I thought I might try one here. Yes, I know it is not pop culture to do a rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Fantasy Star,” but it is wholesome, and your kids can read it.
Twinkle, twinkle, fantasy star,
Will you catch or run too far?
Wide receivers, tight ends too,
Will your targets carry you?
Twinkle, twinkle, Week Six star,
Please don’t leave me fantasy football scars.
Let’s move on to wide receivers and tight ends for your Week 6 starts and sits.

Week 6 Starts and Sits
Wide Receiver Starts
Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Houston Texans are up in Week 6. The Texans give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Washington has 35 targets this season, a 25% share of the Jaguars’ passes. He also has 352 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. He is coming off of a monster 6-catch, 124-yard, 2-touchdown day. The volume we want will be there in a matchup that is great.
Mike Evans, San Francisco 49ers
Evans commands a 25% target share so far this season for the Niners. In a tough Week 5 matchup, Evans caught 7 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Week 6 looks much easier against the Commanders, who give up the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Deebo Samuel will miss Week 6, which means the passing tree will be even more condensed. Evans is set up for a smashing day in Week 6.
Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams
In his second game back from injury, Puka caught 17 of 24 targets for 138 yards and a touchdown. He has 45 targets and 31 receptions in his 3 games. In Week 6, he faces a Cardinals defense that gives up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.
Other wide receiver starts
Tet MacMillan with massive target share in an easy matchup against the Eagles. Zay Flowers gets the Browns and their defense, which gives up the seventh-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Nico Collins and Packers wide receivers Matthew Gold and Christian Watson also have good matchups in Week 6. You can also target secondary options like Davante Adams of the Rams and Brandin Cooks of the Niners.

Wide Receivers Sits
Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers play the Chiefs in Week 6. The Chiefs give up the fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. As if you needed another reason to sit McConkey if he plays. If he plays, sit him. You can also avoid all other Chargers’ wide receivers. Yuck!
Jaylen Waddle, Denver Broncos
Waddle has 32 targets but only 18 catches for 204 yards, for 6.4 yards per target. That is not very good. In Week 6, the Broncos will play the Seahawks. The Seahawks give up the third-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. There is so much not to like here. I can’t even stomach it. Avoid at all costs.
Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers play the Steelers in Week 6. The Steelers give up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. Rookie Jalon Daniels will start for the Buccaneers at quarterback in Week 6. He is not the greatest passer. This should be enough to tell you why he is a sit if you have better options.
Other wide receiver matchup concerns
Garret Wilson has a tough matchup against the Patriots in Week 6. Drake London has a quarterback switch and a tough matchup against the Bears. I wouldn’t play any Bills wide receivers this week if I could help it.

Tight End Starts
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
Kittle has 20% target share so far this season for the Niners. He also has 6 red zone targets. I know he wasn’t great last week, but that was then, and this is now. In Week 6, the Niners play the Commanders, and the Commanders give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. But wait, there’s more. With injuries to the Niners’ wide receivers, Kittle should get even more volume in Week 6.
Isaiah Likely, New York Giants
Jameis Winston threw 25 passes to Likely in the last two games. That was 30% of the targets. The Giants’ passing tree has essentially 2 branches: Likely and Malik Nabers. In Week 5, Likely caught 11 of 13 targets for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. In Week 6, he faces the Saints defense, which gives up the 9th most fantasy points to tight ends. Isaiah will likely be our top-scoring tight end in Week 6.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams
The Cardinals are up in Week 6. The Cardinals give up a lot of fantasy points to tight ends, the fourth most, in fact. Higbee has at least 6 targets, 5 receptions, and 62 yards in each of the past three games. Look for Higbee to produce solid numbers again in an easy matchup.
Other tight ends starts
Dalton Kincaid leads the other Week 6 tight ends to consider. The Raiders allow the sixth-most fantasy points at the position, and his 277 yards on 22 targets give him yardage upside. Dallas Goedert is a borderline streamer against Carolina; his 11.2% target share makes him more dependent on scoring. Charlie Kolar is a deeper-league gamble against Kansas City, which allows the third-most fantasy points to tight ends.
Tight End Sits
Chig Okonkwo, Washington Commanders
This season, Okonkwo only has 13 targets, 8 receptions, and 109 yards. The numbers are not so great. He has not seen a red zone target yet. Don’t worry, it gets even worse. In Week 6, the Commanders play the Niners, and the Niners give up the second-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. No one should be “getting chiggy with it” this season.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Pitts had his best game of the season in Week 5. If you’re a gambler, you will be thinking about riding the wave. I am here to tell you there is no wave. The Bears give up the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends and are the opponent in Week 6. I can smell the stink from this all the way in Maine.
NOTE: For those who flunked geography, and I know my readers, that is most of you, Maine is not near Atlanta.
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
Henry has the best chance of producing among the tight ends in the sit section. This is a match up down grade as the Jets defend tight ends well. The Patriots also tend to spread the ball around. It’s not Henry’s week.
NOTE: It was so easy to pick tight ends to sit; I could have done this all day.
Volume identifies the opportunity. The matchup determines whether to attack it.
