Picks from Week 7 TNF
We went 5-for-10 on our player prop picks in Week 7. Drake Maye ended up throwing for significantly more yards than his projected line. The Patriots were trailing throughout the game, forcing Maye to throw more often, which pushed him over both his passing yards and 20.5 completions lines. A.J. Brown had a quiet game against the Bears and failed to find the end zone, as Maye focused heavily on his backfield and tight end Hunter Henry. DeMario Douglas was also shut down, finishing under both his receiving yards and receptions lines. We fell short of our expectations this week, but all we can do is bounce back with better picks in Week 8!

We have a heavyweight battle between the Carolina Panthers and the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football, featuring plenty of fantasy-relevant players. There are several impactful players who could help you cash in on your player props in Week 8.
Starting with the Packers, they have their star running back, Josh Jacobs, back on the field. He saw 11 carries and five receptions last week in his first game back. Now, he faces a Carolina Panthers defense that just allowed over 200 rushing yards to an inconsistent Buccaneers backfield. Overall, the Panthers have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards to running backs this season. Jacobs hit this line nine times last year, and he should see an increased workload in his second game back. Even on a short week, give me Jacobs to finish with over 58.5 rushing yards.
Sticking with Jacobs, I’m also taking him to score an anytime touchdown. We’ve seen a running back score a touchdown in every Thursday Night Football game this season. Jacobs handled all of the Packers’ inside-the-10-yard-line touches in his first game back, showing that he remains their primary goal-line option. If the Packers get close to the end zone, Jacobs should have a great opportunity to score. Plus, the Panthers have allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns this season, making Jacobs an excellent candidate to find the end zone on Thursday night.
Moving over to the passing game, Jordan Love should likely finish under 263.5 passing yards in this matchup. I believe the Packers will play from ahead, and the presence of Josh Jacobs should take a few passing attempts away from Love. The Panthers have allowed just two quarterbacks to throw for over 260 yards this season, and both performances came in Carolina. They have yet to allow an opposing quarterback to surpass 260 passing yards in a road matchup. This is a tough bet to make since Love has surpassed this line in five of his seven games this season. However, Thursday Night Football can be tricky, and I expect the Packers to lean more on their rushing attack.
Love’s tight end, Tucker Kraft, has a favorable matchup against the Panthers. Carolina has allowed opposing tight ends to produce in recent weeks, giving up 50 or more receiving yards in three of its last four games. Kraft has been putting together consistent yardage performances over the last three weeks, surpassing this mark twice during that stretch. With a favorable matchup against Carolina’s defense, give me Kraft to finish with over 45.5 receiving yards.
This is one to keep an eye on, as Matthew Golden is dealing with an injury but is expected to play in Week 8. Golden has been enjoying a breakout season and is averaging 5.1 receptions per game. The Panthers have allowed an opposing receiver to record at least six receptions in two of their last three games, especially when those receivers see nine or more targets. Golden is averaging nine targets per game, showing how involved he has become in the Packers’ passing attack. He should continue to see a significant workload, giving him a strong opportunity to finish with over 4.5 receptions.
One more Packers receiver worth targeting is Savion Williams, who has put together some decent production as the team’s WR3. The Panthers have allowed slot receivers to produce strong numbers in two of their last three games. While I don’t expect Williams to have a massive performance, he should be able to surpass his line of 28.5 receiving yards against Carolina. Williams has hit this number in both games since returning to the field, and I like his chances of continuing that trend on Thursday night.
Moving over to the Panthers, Chuba Hubbard struggled a bit coming out of the team’s bye week. However, I expect a bounce-back performance from the veteran running back. The Packers have been a favorable matchup for pass-catching running backs, allowing a back to record over 20 receiving yards in four of their last six games. Hubbard has surpassed this mark in half of his games this season. Give me his over 14.5 receiving yards.
I’m also taking Hubbard to finish with over 2.5 receptions. The Packers have allowed an opposing running back to record at least three receptions in each of their last three matchups. Hubbard has hit this mark in three of his six games this season. With Carolina potentially playing from behind, he should see enough opportunities in the passing game to surpass this line.
Sticking with Hubbard, I believe he has a strong chance to score an anytime touchdown. Running backs have consistently found the end zone on Thursday Night Football this season, and the Packers have allowed a rushing touchdown in six of their seven games. If the Panthers can establish their rushing attack and create opportunities near the goal line, Hubbard could be in a favorable position to find the end zone.
Finally, we have Tetairoa McMillan, who faces a Packers secondary that has allowed two 70-yard receiving performances in back-to-back games. The Panthers should be playing in a negative game script, creating more passing opportunities and potentially sending additional targets McMillan’s way. McMillan has surpassed this mark in four of his six games this season. As long as he sees eight or more targets, which we’ve seen him receive in previous games, he should have a strong opportunity to produce another big performance. Give me McMillan to finish with over 70.5 receiving yards on Thursday Night Football.
Preferred Parlay for This Matchup (+1050)
- Josh Jacobs— Over 58.5 Rushing Yards
- Tetairoa McMillan — Over 70.5 Receiving Yards
- Josh Jacobs — Anytime Touchdown
- Chuba Hubbard — Over 2.5 Receptions
- Chuba Hubbard — Over 15.5 Receiving Yards
