8 Fantasy Basketball Streamers for Week 2

Welcome to Fantasy Basketball Streamers for Week 2!

Week 1 is officially in the books, and it brought a mix of early-season dominance, pleasant surprises, and a few temporary letdowns. Mainstays like Nikola Jokić, Jalen Johnson, Anthony Edwards, and Jayson Tatum are right where we expected them to be in the top 10. I was high on Domantas Sabonis heading into the year. However, I didn’t foresee him averaging 53.7 fantasy points per game—second only to Jokić’s 54.95. Meanwhile, “my guy” Walker Kessler is destroying expectations—averaging 52.2 fantasy points and ranking as the fourth-overall player in points leagues. And despite a tough 1-for-13 shooting performance in his debut, Victor Wembanyama is still posting an eighth-best 48.05 fantasy points per game.

Week 1 Performance & Buy-Low Targets

On the flip side, a few marquee stars are off to slower starts. Cade Cunningham ranks 40th overall at 37.6 fantasy points, Kevin Durant sits at 45th with 36.39, and Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 37.2 fantasy points at 43rd overall. Don’t panic or overreact to small Week 1 sample sizes—stay even-keeled. These stars won’t stay in the 40s for long, making them prime buy-low targets right now in sequential order: Cade Cunningham, Kevin Durant, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Whether you came out of Week 1 with a win or a tough loss, the key to dominating your league remains the same: stay active, lock in, and maximize your games played. If you have injured players stashed on IL, use this guide to optimize your final roster spots and stay ahead of your competition.

My priority rankings are written through a Points league lens, but 9-Cat managers can easily adapt these targets based on specific category needs. We’re targeting starting players with reliable production floors and high-upside assets stepping into expanded roles. Let’s dive into Week 2!

Note: The player spotlights below are listed for detailed breakdown purposes. For my official streaming order, check out the Week 2 Streaming Priority Rankings at the bottom of the article!

Week 2 Fantasy Basketball Streamers

Priority Waiver Wire Alert: Before diving into the main list, check if Paul Reed is available in your league. If he is, make him your #1 waiver claim immediately. Jalen Duren is sidelined for at least two weeks with a strained hamstring. That gives Reed a massive starting runway with high efficiency and stat-stuffing potential. Additionally, keep an eye on Grayson Allen and Duncan Robinson—both are elite perimeter snipers who chip in across the board. If all three are available, prioritize them in order: Paul Reed, Grayson Allen, and Duncan Robinson.

Dennis Schröder, PG/SG, Charlotte Hornets

Schröder has performed admirably while operating in an expanded starting role, averaging 25.3 fantasy points per game through his first three contests. Over that span, the German native is posting 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 31.0 minutes per night. With Coby White sidelined and no definitive timetable for his return, Schröder will continue to flourish as a primary playmaker in the starting lineup. Check your waiver wire and make sure he isn’t sitting free.

Zaccharie Risacher, SF, Dallas Mavericks

Risacher has hit the ground running in his rookie campaign, averaging 28.3 fantasy points per game. The #1 overall pick is seeing steady minutes and showing off his versatility across multiple stat categories. As Atlanta continues to lean on his multi-positional defense and perimeter shooting, Risacher offers one of the highest upside profiles among weekly streamer targets.

Tristan da Silva, SF/PF, Orlando Magic

While da Silva’s early-season averages aren’t popping off the stat sheet just yet—posting 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 three-pointers, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal—the Colorado product is looking at a massive bump in minutes and usage with Paolo Banchero (ankle) reportedly sidelined for the next 4 to 6 weeks. Da Silva has proven he can produce in a starting role, averaging 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 defensive stocks, and 1.9 three-pointers in 28.8 minutes per game across 34 starts last season. Expect those solid starter numbers to return as long as Banchero remains on the shelf.

Jaxson Hayes, C, Utah Jazz

Hayes has taken the fantasy world by storm while filling in for the injured Jusuf Nurkić. Over his first two games, the 26-year-old product out of Texas is averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steal, and an elite 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 81.8% from the field across 26.1 minutes. While his 57.1% free-throw mark isn’t ideal for category formats, it doesn’t hurt his value in points leagues. Whether starting or operating as the primary interior anchor off the bench, Hayes provides elite defensive upside.

Jaylen Wells, SG/SF, Memphis Grizzlies

Wells is off to a hot start, averaging 27.7 fantasy points per game. Through two games, he is posting 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 steals while shooting 52.6% from the floor. After swiping four steals in his season opener, he continues to prove he can impact the game on both ends. Starting alongside Ty Jerome, Wells should maintain a steady production floor with strong defensive stat contribution as long as he remains in the starting unit.

Kris Dunn, PG/SG, Los Angeles Clippers

Dunn has started both games to open the season, and while his 7.0 points per game won’t jump off the page, his across-the-board stat stuffing makes him a fantasy standout. Over 30.2 minutes per night, the Providence product is averaging 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. He adds 1.0 block and 1.5 three-pointers for a strong 30.0 fantasy points average. As long as he retains his starting role and heavy minutes, Dunn will deliver safe floor value in all scoring formats.

Derrick Jones Jr., SF/PF, Los Angeles Clippers

Jones continues to do what he does best: produce whenever given an extended run. Brandon Ingram’s return is nowhere in sight as he recovers from an Achilles injury. As a result, Jones’ starting spot is locked in. The UNLV product is averaging 26.5 fantasy points per game with 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers in 30.1 minutes. Expect him to keep delivering right around these numbers as long as he holds down his starting slot.

Max Christie, SG/SF, Dallas Mavericks

Christie serves as a high-volume deep-league streaming option. Through three games, he is averaging 19.5 fantasy points per game with 8.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 three-pointers, and 1.4 defensive stocks in 30.7 minutes per night. While his scoring has fluctuated (5, 16, and 5 points), his ability to contribute in rebounds, playmaking, and defensive stats provides a solid baseline floor. With Cooper Flagg sidelined due to a shoulder injury, Christie should see an extra boost in usage and minutes.

Week 2 Streaming Priority Rankings

    1. Dennis Schröder

    2. Zaccharie Risacher

    3. Tristan da Silva

    4. Kris Dunn

    5. Derrick Jones Jr.

    6. Jaxson Hayes

    7. Jaylen Wells

These rankings prioritize players offering the best combination of weekly game volume, favorable scheduling spots, recent production, and the potential for increased minutes and usage during this stretch.

Final Thoughts

That’s the blueprint for Week 2.

Don’t overreact to Week 1 results—stay even-keeled, trust the process, and focus on maximizing total games played across your roster. The managers who stay proactive on the waiver wire, capitalize on injury-created opportunities, and manage their schedule efficiently are the ones who build long-term dominance.
