10 Players to Target in Dynasty Football Before the NFL Trade Deadline

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10th. Trade season creates price fluctuations in the dynasty market. A player’s price can rise or fall from trade rumors alone. In dynasty, you want to find as much value as you can, even if that value only exists because an NFL insider mentions a player as a possible trade candidate. Here are 10 players to target in dynasty in advance of the NFL trade deadline.

Dynasty Football Trade Targets Ahead of the NFL Trade Deadline

Saquon Barkley, Eagles RB

Barkley turns 30 in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. I think it’s safe to assume that the Eagles will not be playing in that game. Is it also safe to assume that Barkley will not be a part of the Eagles’ future? I think so. If a team is willing to offer the Eagles picks, it would behoove them to listen.

With Philadelphia’s season looking completely lost, Barkley’s value has declined. If he gets dealt to a team like Minnesota, it could spike.

Target Barkley before the deadline. And if you’re extra shrewd, you might want to acquire Tank Bigsby, who would theoretically take over in Philadelphia if Barkley is sent elsewhere.

Tony Pollard, Titans RB

The Titans lost to the Browns on Sunday and fell to 1-6 on the season. If the season ended today, they’d have the number two pick in the draft. The 29-year-old Pollard is not a part of their future, but he’s looking pretty good as he auditions for the rest of the league. Pollard scored three touchdowns in the loss to the Browns and could find himself on a contender before November 10th. He’s a name to strongly consider in advance of the NFL trade deadline.

Tyjae Spears, Titans RB

Spears, like Pollard, is in the last year of his deal. It’s unlikely that he’ll be back in Nashville next season, but he could find a role elsewhere as early as the trade deadline. Don’t invest too heavily, as Spears has never proven to be a three-down back, but a third-down role on a high-scoring team could boost his value.

Kenny Gainwell, Bucs RB

Gainwell averaged 11 touches per game last year in Pittsburgh. He finished as the RB18 in half-point per reception.

Gainwell signed a 2-year $14 million deal with the Bucs in the offseason, but his production has plummeted. He’s currently RB38 and averaging less than eight touches per game.

The Bucs are 2-5, and while they’re not out of it in the NFC South, they could look to recoup some draft capital and move on from a player they aren’t featuring.

Seth McGowan, Colts RB

McGowan would be the next man up in Indy if the Colts were to trade Jonathan Taylor. The seventh-round rookie out of Kentucky would be no lock to be the running back of the future, but he would provide value down the stretch. You could flip him to a RB needy team before your league’s deadline.

Josh Downs, Colts WR

Downs has formally demanded to be traded, and the Colts have already started selling off pieces. He’s the type of player you’d like to keep around during a rebuild because he’s young, reliable, and scheme-independent. He’s in the last year of his rookie deal, though, so it might make sense to part ways. He’d be an instant fit in Kansas City.

Downs is not a league winner, but he could raise the floor of your FLEX and/or amplify your ammunition in a future trade offer.

Brian Thomas, Jr., Jaguars WR

There’s a reason he’s the most traded player on the internet. His rookie season was insane. He had 87 catches, 1282 yards, and 10 TDs. If he could get back to 80% of that, he’d be a home run for whatever you could get him for today. He’s a first-round talent who’s shown he can excel at the highest level. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery.

Jerry Jeudy, Browns WR

The Browns are in first place in the AFC North, but it’s no thanks to Jeudy, who only has 16 catches this season. Jeudy is not a part of the Browns’ future, but he could be a huge upgrade for a team desperate for help at WR. What if the Browns sent him to Kansas City or Las Vegas for a late-round pick? He’s worth a speculative add or as a sweetener to another trade just for the potential upside.

Mac Jones, 49ers QB

He’s arguably the league’s best backup quarterback. Jones started eight games for the 49ers and averaged 268 passing yards and 1.5 passing touchdowns per game. He’d be a massive upgrade in Philadelphia if Eagles GM Howie Roseman maneuvers the deadline to add future picks without giving up on this season.

Dallas Goedert, Eagles TE

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell floated Goedert to the Chiefs in a mock trade last week. He’s 31 years old, but if he’s the heir apparent to Travis Kelce for next season, you would be doing backflips if you got in on the ground floor and acquired him now.
