The tight end position is Travis Kelce, Zach Ertiz, Eric Ebron, and everyone else. George Kittle, Jared Cook, and even Rob Gronkowski have proven to be unreliable from week to week. We want to offer you a couple of options at tight end with your Fantasy season on the line! Welcome to our Week 14 Tight End Sleepers.
Week 14 Tight End Sleepers
Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons
Austin Hooper is quietly the TE7 on the season. He has put together a solid season and has the kind of floor that won’t crap your team. Hooper also has a bit of upside as he has posted games of five-plus receptions six times this season and a remarkable three games with 9-plus catches. Hooper is about as safe as they come in Week 14.
C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals
Uzomah has played in at least 92-percent of offensive snaps since Week 5. He is virtually on the field the entire game, which is uncommon in the NFL today for the tight end (unless you are Kelce or Ertz).
Since Andy Dalton has gone down with injury, Jeff Driskel has peppered his tight end with targets. Uzomah has back to back games with 5-plus catches and should see a similar workload against the Chargers this weekend. Uzomah should be looked at as a back-end TE1 in Week 14.
Rhett Ellison, New York Giants
Just like with Hooper and Uzomah, Ellison provides a safe floor at the tight end position. If you are streaming a tight end this week, you can do worse than Ellison. With Evan Engram out again with a hamstring injury, Ellison played on 94 percent of snaps against the Bears. He caught four passes for 42 yards. Two weeks ago, Ellison had four catches for 77 yards.
In only a week after David Njoku provided three receptions for eight yards, Ellison should be considered in a must-win scenario. If you are hurting at tight end, Ellison will give you five points with touchdown upside.
