Some weeks you have to dig for value. This week, the value dug itself up and started waving at you. Every name on this list is lining up against a defense that’s actively bleeding points somewhere — the pass, the run, the slot, take your pick. If you’ve followed me the last two seasons, you know the drill by now: Thursdays are for the sickos, the deep-league streamers, the guys your league mates scrolled right past on their way to the “real” waiver targets. No digging required this week — just grab Your Week 3 G6 Sicko List and pick them up.

Your Week 3 G6 Sicko List
Quarterbacks
JJ Kohl, FIU
Fantrax Rostership: 16%
Total Fantasy Points: 58.6
Fantasy Points Per Game: 29.3 (6-point passing TDs)
FIU plays Florida Atlantic in Week 3, and FAU is allowing a nation-worst 46.05 PPG to opposing QBs. Over the last two weeks, Kohl has thrown 50 times and 36 times while surpassing 300 passing yards in both games. He has 4 touchdown passes this season. Kohl is perfect for 6-point passing TD leagues, as he won’t generate many points on the ground — just 11 attempts for 50 yards coming into Week 3. Based on his volume and how bad FAU’s pass defense has been, I’d expect JJ Kohl to have a week where you can feel confident starting him.
Bishop Davenport, South Alabama
Fantrax Rostership: 12%
Total Fantasy Points: 43.3
Fantasy Points Per Game: 21.6 (4-point passing TDs)
South Alabama plays Ohio in Week 3, and Ohio ranks 3rd-worst in the nation in fantasy points allowed to opposing QBs at 37.85 PPG. Davenport looked solid last week against Tulane — 296 yards and 2 TDs through the air, plus another 50 yards on the ground. On the season, he has 20 rushes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Given Ohio’s inability to stop the pass or the run (more on that below), I’d expect Bishop Davenport to be a solid plug-and-play QB in Week 3.

Running Backs
Patrick “PJ” Martin, South Alabama
Fantrax Rostership: 22%
Total Fantasy Points: 34.6
Fantasy Points Per Game: 17.3
I just mentioned Davenport’s QB matchup and how forgiving Ohio’s defense is against the pass. The run defense is worse. The Bobcats are allowing 43.15 PPG to opposing RBs, second-worst in the nation. PJ Martin is averaging 19 touches and 88 yards per game through two weeks. Keenan Phillips will see some work too, but Martin leads the backfield in Weighted Opportunity.

Scottre Humphrey, New Mexico
Fantrax Rostership: 30%
Total Fantasy Points: 37.4
Fantasy Points Per Game: 18.7
You won’t want him this week, as the Lobos play Oklahoma. But after that, fire up Scottre Humphrey. New Mexico State, UTEP, and Hawaii are on deck for New Mexico. New Mexico State is allowing 29.77 PPG to opposing RBs, UTEP is allowing 19.75, and Hawaii is allowing 27.27 PPG. Scottre is the clear lead back in this Lobos backfield, averaging roughly double the touches of RB2 Kiefer Sibley. He’s putting up 84 yards per game so far this season and has 9 red-zone carries, which have turned into 3 rushing scores.

Wide Receivers
Sam Pickett III, Appalachian State
Fantrax Rostership: 4%
Total Fantasy Points: 37.2
Fantasy Points Per Game: 18.6
App State plays Charlotte in Week 3, and the 49ers are allowing 40.60 PPG to opposing WR units. Charlotte also struggles to contain the outside — they’re allowing 0.207 points per snap to outside wide receivers, which ranks near the bottom of the FBS. They’re giving up roughly three times as many fantasy points to outside receivers compared to the slot.
Pickett is averaging about 4 receptions on 5 targets for 81 yards per game through two weeks. His 18.6% target share leads the WR corps, and he’s the only receiver in that room to see a red-zone target — converting both of them into touchdowns, the only two scores this WR unit has. Add it all up, and you’ve got a recipe for Sam Pickett III to have a great game on Saturday.
Quite the App State debut for @MCWarriors1 alum Sam Pickett (@Sam3Pickett)!

Mario Sanders, Southern Miss
Fantrax Rostership: 4%
Total Fantasy Points: 30.2
Fantasy Points Per Game: 15.1
Southern Miss plays UConn this week, and UConn is allowing 50.95 fantasy points to opposing WR units — and they especially struggle against the slot, giving up 15.7 PPG to slot receivers. Enter Mario Sanders, Southern Miss’s slot man, who leads the team in target share at a whopping 27.1%. He’s averaging 4 receptions on 8 targets and 76 yards per game through two weeks. He may not get you a touchdown Saturday — he has zero red-zone targets on the year — so you’re likely hoping he breaks one off. The data supports that he can: his YAC sits at 13.6 with a 66.7% juke rate. Mario Sanders likely won’t win you your week, but if you’re searching for answers at WR, he’s a great numbers play and Week 3 G6 sicko list selection!

Carson Clark, San Jose State
Fantrax Rostership: 32%
Total Fantasy Points: 52.3
Fantasy Points Per Game: 17.4
San Jose State plays Fresno State this week for the Battle for the Valley — a tough matchup on paper, but Fresno State is allowing 46.25 PPG to wide receiving rooms through two weeks. Dig deeper and they’re especially vulnerable in the slot, allowing 0.642 fantasy points per snap, 7th-worst in the country. Carson Clark has put up weeks of 13.4, 10.8, and 28.1 points, and he leads the wide receivers in both target share (27.4%) and red-zone targets (5). A slot receiver leading his team in target share and red-zone looks, against a defense that can’t guard the slot? What could go wrong?
Tight End
Darrin Fugitt, Appalachian State
Fantrax Rostership: 17%
Total Fantasy Points: 28.3
Fantasy Points Per Game: 14.2
I mentioned Fugitt’s teammate Sam Pickett III above — if Sam doesn’t have a good game, there’s a good chance it is because Darrin did. Fugitt has a 20.3% target share, which leads the Mountaineers. He’s averaging 5 receptions on 6 targets for 56 yards per game this season, with 2 red-zone targets and a touchdown. He ranks 9th in the nation in TE targets per game and 15th in TE yards per game. Good TE games are hard to predict, but I’ll take my chances on the guy leading his team in target share and holding half the team’s red-zone looks. When Darrin Fugitt has a good game Saturday, don’t be surprised. I know I won’t. Justice and I talked with David Ware about him back in June!
App State has found a difference maker in TE Darrin Fugitt. His maturity and playmaking ability are already turning heads this spring. Could he be the anchor this young tight end room needs? #AppState #CollegeFootball #SunBelt @darrin_fugitt @AppState_FB @AppStateMania pic.twitter.com/UzlMdnofv2

Your Week 3 G6 Sicko List
That’s the sicko list for Week 3 — a pair of QBs staring down two of the worst pass defenses in the country, a South Alabama backfield feasting on the second-worst run defense in America, three wide receivers built to exploit exactly the coverage each opponent can’t handle, and a tight end quietly putting up top-15 numbers nationally. Good luck in your Week 3 matchups. See you in Week 4!
