Dynasty Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire Pickups

The Waiver Wire for Fantasy Football is always exciting for Redraft Leagues, but gets much thinner when it comes to those Dynasty Fantasy Football Leagues. The difference is typically roster and bench settings at the end of the day, with Dynasty Leagues being more extensive. This then correlates directly to the waiver wire being much thinner. So, a sneaky way to gain an edge in your Dynasty Leagues this time of year would be to pick up players that can return future value. In this piece, I identify players that are rostered in 50% or less of most platforms who can be picked up and stashed now, but could could pay off later.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.

Dynasty Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire Pickups

Jahan Dotson (WR, Falcons)

Jahan Dotson was a former first-round talent from 2022, who flashed as a Commander as a rookie. That season, through 12 games, Dotson caught 35 balls for 523 yards and seven touchdowns. Dotson spent the last two seasons in Philadelphia behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, but now can fight in his new Atlanta home for the WR2 role behind Drake London.

Matthew Hibner (TE, Ravens)

The Ravens selected Matthew Hibner in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, out of SMU. Hibner finished his final college season with 436 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Hibner is a 6’5, 252 lb tight end with 4.57 speed, so the size/speed combo is there. With Isaiah Likely gone, Hibner can serve as the team’s TE2 behind Mark Andrews for 2026.

John Metchie III (WR, Panthers)

John Metchie III is a former second-round talent, selected by the Texans in 2022. Metchie has battled adversity throughout his entire football career, so it was great to see him flash as a Jet last season with weeks of 13.5/18.5 Fantasy Points. Metchie has multiple receivers in Carolina to battle for targets with in 2026, but we have to remember his strong college connection to Bryce Young back at Alabama, where he caught 96 balls for 1,142 receiving yards and eight touchdowns back in 2021.

Tahj Brooks (RB, Bengals)

The Bengals selected Tahj Brooks in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. Brooks rushed for over 1,500 yards and scored 10+ rushing touchdowns in each of his final two college seasons. Chase Brown is the clear RB1 for the Bengals, but Brooks can earn the handcuff role in a great offense, which could be extremely valuable if Brown were to ever miss time.

Malik Davis (RB, Cowboys)

Malik Davis scored 10+ Fantasy Points on three different occasions in 2025. Most impressive was Davis’ Week 17, where he rushed 20 times for 103 yards, showing upside potential if given volume. Davis will have to continue to fight off 2025 rookie Jaydon Blue for the Javonte Williams handcuff role, but with Davis winning that battle last season, there should come some optimism for 2026.

Luke Musgrave (TE, Packers)

Luke Musgrave is a former second-round selection by the Packers in 2023. Tucker Kraft, the team’s TE1, is coming off an ACL tear from November. This could mean Musgrave having an extended role early on in 2026, if Kraft is not fully healthy. This could mean something in those TE Premium Leagues.

Marlin Klein (TE, Texans)

The Texans selected Marlin Klein in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Michigan. Klein was not a huge producer at Michigan due to the stacked TE rooms they have had. Dalton Schultz is the TE1 for the team at 29 years old who will be rostered through 2027, but there could be a developmental route for 6’6 Klein to be the future team’s TE1.

Seth McGowan (RB, Colts)

The Colts selected Seth McGowan in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Kentucky. McGowan played at Oklahoma in 2020, New Mexico State in 2024, then Kentucky in 2025, totaling 2,522 scrimmage yards and 22 total touchdowns in college. McGowan can battle 2025 rookie DJ Giddens for that RB2 role behind Jonathan Taylor, which would be a relevant handcuff role for Fantasy Football.

Tanner Koziol (TE, Jaguars)

The Jaguars selected Tanner Koziol out of Houston in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, after selecting tight end Nate Boerkircher in the second round. Koziol spent three seasons at Ball State before finishing his career at Houston, and totaled 237 receptions, 2,234 receiving yards, and 24 touchdowns through his college career. Even though Brenton Strange is the clear TE1, and there was a tight end in the same class selected above Koziol, I am a huge fan of his receiving profile, which could translate well in the NFL.

Tyquan Thornton (WR, Chiefs)

Tyquan Thornton re-signed with the Chiefs on a two-year, $11 million contract this offseason. Thornton finished 2025 with 19 catches for 438 receiving yards and three touchdowns through 14 games played, as a top-three receiver in yards per target and yards per catch. Thornton finished three weeks with 12+ Fantasy Points through the opening five weeks, which shows he can capitalize on opportunity.

Konata Mumpfield (WR, Rams)

As a seventh-round rookie in 2025, Konata Mumpfield finished his season with 10 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. Mumpfield played (including the NFL Playoffs) 40%+ of the snaps across eight games in 2025. Davante Adams is 33 years old and missed time last season. The Rams also did not draft a wide receiver to compete for a big role. So Mumpfield can grow into a larger role for 2026.

Greg Dulcich (TE, Dolphins)

Greg Dulcich will open up 2026 as the TE1 for the Miami Dolphins, who took some shots on wide receivers in rounds three (Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell) and five (Kevin Coleman Jr.), but still have an extremely weak receiving room. Dulcich flashed as a rookie back in 2022, finishing the year with 33 catches for 411 receiving yards (12.45 yards per catch). With Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, and Darren Waller rostered last year, Dulcich still produced 335 yards. 2026 could be a breakout year if Dulcich and new QB1 Malik Willis get connected well.

Noah Fant (TE, Saints)

Noah Fant signed a two-year deal with the Saints this offseason. Fant produced 500 receiving yards in 2024, 486 in 2022, 670 in 2021, 673 in 2020, and 562 in 2019. Juwan Johnson caught 77 of his 102 targets for 889 yards and three touchdowns last season. While those numbers were great for Johnson last year, I do not think it is an impossible outcome for Fant to beat out Johnson for that TE1 role.

Treylon Burks (WR, Commanders)

Treylon Burks re-signed with the Commanders on a one-year, $4 million deal this offseason. Last season, Burks finished Week 10 with three catches for 58 yards, scored a touchdown in Week 13, and then caught two balls for 30 yards in Week 16. Burks was a former first-round selection by the Titans in 2018, and can fight for the WR2/WR3 role for Jayden Daniels in 2026 with rookie Antonio Williams and Luke McCaffrey.
