MLB Injury Report
Willson Contreras – 1B Boston Red Sox
Willson Contreras update: He has a right hand bruise, per the Red Sox. Which, well, yeah. https://t.co/5gYc4hpiML
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) May 10, 2026
Contreras left Sunday’s game after getting hit by a pitch on his hand. It would appear that the early results of X-rays have given way to no additional injury other than a bruise. Keep in mind, he does have an extensive injury history, which includes time off after getting hit by pitches, so he is by no means out of the woods just yet.
Mookie Betts – SS Los Angeles Dodgers
Mookie Betts will travel back to LA tomorrow (Sunday). Assuming there is no lingering soreness, the Dodgers will look to activate him Monday ahead of a four-game set against the Giants. https://t.co/x7UbwcWbrv

Be prepared!
Carlos Correa – 3B Houston Astros
Astros source: Carlos Correa will undergo surgery Monday morning in Houston to repair the tendon in his left ankle.
— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) May 10, 2026
The good news is that this surgery should fully fix the problem, leading to him returning (hopefully) as good as new next year. He is still slated to miss the rest of the season, but is also someone worth stashing in dynasty leagues if at all possible.
Jeremy Pena – SS Houston Astros
Jeremy Peña is on track to start a rehab assignment Tuesday or Wednesday, Joe Espada said.
— Matt Kawahara (@matthewkawahara) May 10, 2026
Pena looks almost ready to return, possibly as early as this time next week. He has missed significant time thus far and may need more than a handful of games before being ready. Keep an eye on how his rehab assignment goes this week. If he is raking right away, he may just be ready sooner than expected.
Tatsuya Imai – SP Houston Astros
Tatsuya Imai will start on Tuesday against the Mariners. Peter Lambert goes tomorrow.
— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) May 10, 2026
Be prepared!
Jacob Wilson – SS Sacramento Athletics
Left shoulder sprain for Jacob Wilson. He’ll undergo further imaging tomorrow.
— MartÃn Gallegos (@MartinJGallegos) May 10, 2026
Wilson injured himself while diving for a ball in the infield. We’ve seen what can happen when players hurt themselves doing that (Xander Bogaerts), and it’s possible that there is a significant injury there already. Stay tuned.
Logan Webb – SP San Francisco Giants
Logan Webb was placed on the IL with right knee bursitis. Trevor McDonald is back to take his rotation spot.
— Alex Pavlovic (@PavlovicNBCS) May 9, 2026
There have been other reports stating that Webb has dealt with this injury before, and that both he and the Giants believe that he will be back when first eligible. It remains to be seen whether this optimism is warranted, as many teams and players are overly optimistic and can underestimate the actual impact an injury has. That being said, fantasy managers should be happy that this doesn’t seem like a major injury.
Hunter Greene – SP Cincinnati Reds

Greene has made his way up to this distance slowly and with precaution. It’s unclear when he will make his way to a mound, though he may still need to throw from a farther distance than he has already before then. Regardless, this doesn’t change the fact that he won’t be back for at least another month and that he will require a rather extensive rehab assignment.
Jackson Holliday – 2B Baltimore Orioles
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz confirmed that Jackson Holliday will play third base tomorrow during his rehab assignment with Double-A Chesapeake.
But this isn’t a permanent change. Holliday will still be playing second base. Orioles just want a look at Holliday at third.
— Jacob Calvin Meyer (@jcalvinmeyer) May 9, 2026
Holliday, beginning to get some reps at third base, is an interesting development. While the team doesn’t necessarily believe it will go somewhere substantial, they are, in a sense, covering their tracks here and preparing for the worst, because…..
Jordan Westburg – 3B Baltimore Orioles
Jordan Westburg has a follow-up appointment on Monday after getting shut down, Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said
— Jake Rill (@JakeDRill) May 9, 2026
This is a big day for him and the team. Westburg has a tear in his elbow, and both he and the Orioles opted for rest. He suffered a setback when he started ramping his body back up, leading one to believe that perhaps the tear was bigger than first believed. We’ll know more based on the follow-up, but there’s a significant chance that season-ending surgery is a possibility, making the aforementioned look at Holliday playing third base very important.
Addison Barger – OF Toronto Blue Jays
Addison Barger is getting an MRI on his elbow.
He woke up with a limited range of motion today, John Schneider says. #BlueJays
— Keegan Matheson (@KeeganMatheson) May 10, 2026
Barger literally just returned from an ankle injury, and now he may head back to the Injured List with an elbow and/or shoulder injury. He made an incredibly hard throw to the plate on Saturday, and it’s quite possible that he hurt himself doing that. However, all of that is pure speculation, and once we know more information, we’ll be able to assess further. Regardless, this is a bummer.
Detroit Tigers – Team Update
The Tigers today placed OF Kerry Carpenter on the 10-day injured list with a left AC joint sprain. INF Gage Workman (#99) was selected from Triple-A Toledo.
To make room for Workman on the 40-man roster, RHP Justin Verlander was transferred to the 60-day injured list.
— Tigers PR (@DetroitTigersPR) May 10, 2026
The interesting news here is regarding Justin Verlander. His injury was never believed to be this serious, and yet, here we are, weeks later, and no real progression. He did throw a bullpen this weekend, which is great news, but his body just isn’t recovering like it once was. As for Kerry Carpenter, he collided with the wall on Saturday and was almost immediately placed on the Injured List. There’s no timeline for a return, so hopefully this isn’t major.
New York Mets – Team Update
Luis Robert Jr. still hasn't commenced any baseball activities, Carlos Mendoza said. Still no timeline on Jorge Polanco who has "good days and bad days." The wrist is progressing but the bursitis remains a problem.
— Laura Albanese (@AlbaneseLaura) May 10, 2026
They say that no news is good news, but this appears to be the exception. It’s been very quiet on the Mets’ front with respect to both Luis Robert Jr. and Jorge Polanco, and here’s why: they aren’t making any progress, nor are they regressing. They’re both still in a standstill, unable to do anything more. It’s frustrating for both fantasy managers and fans alike, waiting to use their services.
Miami Marlins – Team Update
#Marlins injury updates from Clayton McCullough
Pete Fairbanks will come to Minnesota with the club and expectation is to be reinstated when he’s eligible.
Owen Caissie should be good after the off-day.
— Christina De Nicola (@CDeNicola13) May 10, 2026
Be prepared!
Logan O’Hoppe – C Los Angeles Angels
Logan O’Hoppe is headed to Arizona to start a rehab assignment on Monday
— Rhett Bollinger (@RhettBollinger) May 9, 2026
Those in need of a second catcher might want to consider stashing O’Hoppe if he was previously dropped. He could be back in the Angels lineup by this time next week.
