Fantasy Baseball Auction Values for 12-Team Mixed Leagues

I have the privilege of participating in the LABR 12-team Mixed League Auction this coming Sunday night. Over the last few years, it has taken place at First Pitch Florida, an incredible event put on by BaseballHQ. This year it will be an online auction. It’s always better to draft in person when possible, but a fantasy baseball auction is a great thing no matter how you do it. With this draft ahead of me, now is the perfect time to configure my 2025 12-team mixed league auction values.

Some people might be hesitant about giving away their values so close to an actual auction, but with the incredible group of managers in LABR, I’m pretty sure they’ve got better things to do than spy on little old me. Besides, as I share every year in my fantasy baseball auction strategy piece, these values change the minute players start flying off the board. That’s why fantasy baseball auctions are half science, half art.

What?! Your fantasy baseball league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season? Preposterous! Check out what the Fantrax MLB Commissioner has to offer and we think you’ll be singing a different tune for the 2025 MLB season.

My Valuation Process

Some analysts simply run their projections through a program that assigns values and run with it. I’ve always found that I’m way out of line with the prices that happen in auctions when I do this. I still use my projections to create values but then I manually go through and adjust the values based on factors like positional and categorical scarcity. As an example, if you use the FanGraphs Auction Calculator, you’ll see that there are many middle relievers who are projected to earn close to $10 or more. This may indeed happen, but those aren’t the prices people will pay in actual auctions. I may still roster some of those pitchers but I want the values I take into an auction to reflect the prices I’ll actually see in the auction.

As you look through the values below, keep in mind that this is a first run. Especially in the outfield and starting pitcher values, there is a lot of variability. I could go through those positions 10 times and flip-flop players every time. If you disagree, then by all means go with your value. Besides, success in an auction has less to do with the exact values you have going into it than it does with your ability to adjust as the auction progresses.

2025 12-Team Fantasy Baseball Auction Values

The images below are screenshots from the Excel sheet I used to create them. For your auctioning pleasure, I’ve also created a PDF file (12-team Mixed Cheat Sheet Auction Values) you can download and print out. With the talk all done let’s get on to my 2025 12-team mixed league auction values… Feel free to pick apart in the comments below. I’m picking them apart each time I take a fresh look anyway.

I’ve also included several players at each position with $0 values. You may decide that you like some of them better than the players I have at $1 or $2. That’s fine. It’s your team. Again, you be you. It’s your team and I don’t want to hear from you next October about how my valuing Nathaniel Lowe over Andrew Vaughn cost you a title.
